Really like the natural method of weed control as opposed to mechanical or herbicides. Great alternative.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST. WHY ARE THEY NOT SAYING. SEEMS SHADEY WITH THAT GUY IN THE TRUCK WITH THE DARK GLASSES. SOMETHING IS NOT CORRECT HERE. I can scythe almost 1 and 1/2 acres a day. It looks like there 25 goats for a week on 1 acre. It does not seem viable. I'm pretty good at math.

ThThe Gypsy Goat Herder is so COOL! This is way more efficient on EVERY level.

There is nothing efficient about 25 goats half clearing an acre in a week. As usual sounds nice and fluffy but that's all. I can clear an acre and a half in one day with a scythe. Goats have a place but clearing highway aprons is not it. Sorry

Used to use my dairy goats, on a leash, to " weed eat" around my house. When barn got emptied it went on garden. I had the BEST garden!. Good job!

How much does it cost. That's the big question. Seems like a bit of a hustle to me.
@MishMixVarietyChannel3 жыл бұрын
You'd have to ask her. Start up cost would be high, but she did say her 2,000 head of goat are always on rotation the entire year at different sites so she doesn't need a farm anymore or base camp. That cut her cost a lot. Chemicals and noisy weed eaters are probably cheaper, might as well just stick with those. :0)

@@MishMixVarietyChannel I personally love using a scythe. Very hypnotic and friendly and Quiet. I would never use chemicals, but i will use a weed whacker if need be. It's nice watching the goats do their work. I'm wonder how much she charges for her services. Anyway cheers and thanks for the comment.

it's just like with a mosquitoes here in Florida there are fish that knew this kind of War they don't need these spray that chemicals like they do here in Lake County Florida in Tavares it's it's crazy you're killing the bees and it does kill them not only that it kills the dragonflies cuz they lay their eggs in the same place the mosquitoes do so why not use fish to have natural control over them same thing with the goats you have a natural control over the natural management of the land makes perfect sense to me

Sound like like somebody wants it to appear the goats have failed the pilot program by not allowing them to clean up around the guardrail

With electro net, why run em all with dogs? Time for some low-stress stockmanship. Animals and plants were meant to be in rhythm together
@oranjmusemeyer9685 жыл бұрын
She rarely turns the nets on, the goats over time assume the nets are on. If a goat gets spooked the rest will follow so it's important to have dogs for the safety of the goats and people as well.
@galentong47835 жыл бұрын
The nets are also to keep predators away. Don't know if they are on Maui but in other areas coyotes, mountain lions, foxes etc. feast on goat herds.
