When I first heard this story, I was genuinely shocked that a mother could subject their child to something so horrible and abuse her behind closed doors. I never understood how the doctors that Gypsy would go to didn't try to question anything the mother said about illness that she never had? Very shocked to hear that she received surgery that she never needed. I completely agree with your opinions on this video.

The thing about it is that in a sense she’s constantly reminded that she’s the reason her mom was dead. I love how she’s handled everything, how she does talk about how she regrets what she did, and that she takes all responsibility for what she did. The fact that she’s out here wanting to just raise awareness, to remind people that they can ask for help and that they aren’t alone in the world is something I love. The fact that she can confidently say that she still loves her mom and doesn’t blame her for the things she did because of her mental illness is so strong to me.

My Nana had pretty serious mental disorders including Munchausen syndrome (not by proxy) and MAN, the things that woman would do to her own body for manipulation/sympathy points, alongside the conditions she actually had. If you haven't experienced stuff like this firsthand and it seems like it's just an excuse for awful behavior, you're really gonna have to take people's word for it. It's messed up man

It sounds like she got some good therapy while locked up and that she really has matured a lot. I haven't followed this story at all and only know the main key parts of it from this video and a little I read about after looking it up while watching this video. She was a victim, even the guy who murdered her mother victimized her. He could've taken her far away from the situation rather than killing her mom. He seems just as sick as her mom was IMO. I wish Gypsy Rose a happy and healthy future and hope she's able to have some kind of normalcy in her life. I hope her husband is good to her and has true intentions as well.

Isolation actually teaches a person a lot because depending on how much access to information from the outside someone has, the world can be observed from in doors as well, and I guess I'm no different than Gypsy Rose in that part. My mother is a pill seeker and she was also "sick" with a bunch of things. I cant say i know what she went through because i dont but i do get the pain and sadness that comes from a situation like that. My mother at one point said she didnt know who her own kids are husbands was. That broke me. I now know that she is just a sick woman who is not only dealing with the problem of being "sick" with all these things but she was just not mature enough for kids. While i do blame my mother for a lot of things i know she had control over i dont blame her for all of it. I mean my childhood isn't really over yet im 14 soon to be 15 in may.
