This video can help student solve the exercise (Questions and Answers) of this chapter from their course book. We have used Nepali language to explain this beautiful story from NEB’s Grade 12 Compulsory English subject as per the new syllabus.
The characters explained in the story are a tourist (A Westerner who holds aesthetic vision regarding Nepal based on his past study), a guide (a Nepalese guide with good knowledge regarding Nepalese culture, history and geography), the farmer’s family and a paralyzed child.

SUMMARY: // SHORT STORY ---- Shankar Lamichhane, Nepali writer He uses symbolism a lot. Half-closed eyes mean a peaceful environment Slowly sinking sun means the beauty of nature characters: female tourist guide polio infected kid tourist comes to Nepal cus she was obsessed with its beauty the story is based on the monologue of the guide and tourist the writer has used Stream of consciousness technique, a narrative style that tries to capture a character's thought process in a realistic way she says that Nepal has given westerners various things like knowledge based on religion, civilisation and wisdom she's impressed by the fact that Nepali people are living in unison despite the racial and cultural diversity she likes the food, architecture and eyes of Nepali people wants to see unforgettable eyes the guide takes her to a place that renders poverty-based vibes. they witness disabled, blind people and also the polio kid the guide says that their eyes and smile are the only beautiful thing they can express lesson: the guide wants to show the sorrow in the beautiful land and the instances of poverty in the rich culture.

What if your brain .
