You can find the center for the halo by measuring the widest part of the head and then find the center of the line, then the length that you get from that half mark you then take that same half of the line and then measure from the top of the head till the line mark from the previous. It takes less time than to find the center by eye.

Εξαιρετικές εικόνες, ιεροπρεπείς και άρτιες τεχνικά! Ευχαριστούμε πολύ! Εναλλακτικά οσον αφορά το φωτοστέφανο, βρίσκεις σχεδιαστικά το κέντρο, το σημειώνεις στο ανθιβολο κ μετά στην εικόνα. Με ενα διαφανές πλαστικο κομμάτι από θηκη CD ή χαρακάκι στο οποίο έχεις σημαδέψει ενα σημείο με ανεξίτηλο μαρκαδοράκι το ταιριάζεις με το σημειωμένο κέντρο της εικόνας κ βάζεις εκεί τον διαβήτη σου χωρίς να τραυματίσεις την εικόνα.

Wonderful technique video! By the way, the metal instrument on your compass is called a ruling pen in English. I wanted one a while ago and had no idea what it was called - took forever to find it. It still seems like a strange word for it, i think!

Hi Elizabeth.. Yes it's egg tempera some combination of yellow Ochre, cadmium yellow and maybe some cadmium red. A little white as well possibly

Thank you again, Antonis, for making the impossible simpler to do! I’ve had millions of traumas with halos ( before, during, and after) and often it feels it’s a happy accident when it actually works. You are giving invaluable guidance! ❤️❤️❤️ I also love the idea of underpainting the image. My (purist) teacher may have a fit👹, but that’s not important for now. I wonder if underpainting with a greener tone (more like the proplasmos) would make a difference to the final outcome? Cooler colours in the underpainting (shadows and bones) always seem to give bodies more grit and gravitas than umbers, for instance, would do. What do you suggest? Hope I don’t sound like an iconoclastic westerner. I certainly don’t intend to be.

Thank you for the question. If you mean red it should be red I guess.... Never seen a halo line colored green or blue or something else... I don't know if there is some major Canon but it is custom...

Γειά σου Τζιμακο😊 πρέπει να αραιώσει το χρώμα! Το ακρυλικό κάνει μια χαρά. Απλώς το.χρωμα να έχει διαλυθεί καλά, και να μην έχει σκουπιδακια. Αραιό, αλλά όχι και πάρα πολύ γιατί θα τρέξει απότομα και θα έχεις πρόβλημα. Κάνε εξάσκηση σε χαρτόνι.

Γειά σου Χαρά σε ευχαριστώ πολύ... Κοίτα εγώ το βρίσκω με το μάτι το κέντρο... Αν θυμάμαι όμως καλά στα σχόλιά του συγκεκριμένου βίντεο κάποιος λέει ένα κόλπο για να βρίσκεις το κέντρο.... Για τσέκαρε.... Αν δεν ισχύει, πες μου να σου πω κάτι αλλο

@@PaintingtheLight ναι το είδα! Με ψιλό βοήθησε μπορώ να πω αλλά ο γραμμοσυρτης εξακολουθεί κ με παιδεύει πολύ, δεν πέφτει το χρώμα κ μόνο χαράζει.. Έτσι κάνω απλά το φωτοστέφανο με το μολύβι του διαβήτη κ περνάω από πάνω με το πινέλο.. Δεν με ικανοποιεί το αποτέλεσμα όμως, δν βγαίνει ομοιόμορφα έτσι όσο προσεκτική κ αν είμαι 😢

@@charagmad2235 αυτό έχει να κάνει με το ποσό πυκνο είναι το χρώμα σου, και το ποσο ανοίγεις τον γραμμοσυρτη. Κάνε εξάσκηση σε ένα χαρτόνι και θα το βρεις. Είναι κρίμα να το κάνεις με το χέρι..

That's a great question. To tell. You the truth I Never have problem using egg tempera itself.
