Makes me happy to see this! I love how determination, technology and creativity has resulted in making custom builds like this so accessible for fans. Your steps are easy to understand and fun to follow as it comes together and it’s especially cool to learn the extra sculpted touches that really bring out the character. I do cringe a bit seeing bare skin on the epoxy clay though, just from how bad it’s impacted a couple artist friends. I think many can be ok with it, but it’s also possible to develop severe allergic reactions from regular exposure to these types of clays making it unsafe to use. Might be more likely for those with sensitive skin but getting good fitting gloves and making them a habit is a safe way to go. Just would be a good psa for any folk looking to emulate these steps, where some might end up having a rather bad time. Watching this makes me wish so much I could come across a Rex to mod as well. You did such a beautiful job!

I ran into too many issues with the dunking in hot water for the head and ruined one Rex, so I opted to just use a pair of large wire cutters and cut the head shell off and the dremel the peg holes open.

Thats exactly what i did too and im having some trouble applying the head after drilling. I tried to drill centered as much as possible. Didnt come out perfect, maybe the holes need sanding? Got any advice for slipping the head on? Or advice on drilling the peg holes?

Had the same problem... but in mine I've tried everything to hollow out the peg holes (literally every peg on the bottom jaw broke in the hole during the extraction process) to no avail. Bought a drill even, but the stuck bits inside are like concrete. Not really quite sure what to do now...

Took a stab at it today & destroyed my rex… definitely don’t rush it everybody, give extra time in the hot water for the head, even if it’s soft. I was too heavy handed with it & ended up snapping the base pink plastic head. No glue was strong enough so I need to get another figure.
