The Hand of Franklin - A Rowing Adventure through the Northwest Passage

The Hand of Franklin takes us intimately into the confines of a four-man, Canadian-Irish expedition attempting to be the first to row self-propelled through the fabled Northwest Passage. The journey demonstrates the alarming effects of climate change in the arctic- and its global consequences.
Shot and directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker Frank Wolf, this epic modern-day adventure puts the audience on the oars with the Canadian/Irish team as they spend two months battling wind, ice and themselves in a sardine can-sized rowboat.

I found out the Stan Roger's song recently, and stepped by this movie. Four men on a tiny boat overcame the challenge that many ships commanded by great navigators died trying to make. This really shows how bad the loss of ice is getting on the Arctic, and the problems we're already having because of it. Overall, really great piece, a trully enriching experience!
