It's never too late. Whether parents living or not. i have just finished building my deceased parents home and in so doing, revived a village that was in danger of extinction. Now siblings, grandchildren and great grandchildren have a permanent place to call home and to reconnect with their heritage. Congratulations Jackie, you've done great for your parents.
