The fact this season is only 10 eps means they're gonna try to run faster. Great photography, smaller plot, this usually means details get skipped over and the plot suffers. I think her tunnel vision is realistic. (Altho running its course for us viewers). June is in hyper-vigilance mode - symptom of post-traumatic stress disorder, and often times a long-term affect. PTSD of those involved in long-term abuse and/or war.

I sort of agree, but at the same time I feel for both of the characters at times too. Like whenever Lydia is comforting one of the girls and especially June, it gives me the feels because you can just tell how much she actually cares about them and still thinks of them as human beings that deserve good things. She’s obviously misguided as hell thinking that being a good handmaid is what’s best for the girls, but she does want what’s in her mind, best for them. All of the commanders think they’re worthless and don’t have the right to literally anything in the world. Serena is worse imo because she’s selfish and is only driven by her own desire to have a child and screws over anyone in order to get there, yet a lot of people see her as a redeemable character. But yeah, I definitely have times were I think she’s not so bad after all and she deserves something good in life.

And I feel like in this season Lydia is heading towards some sort of change of heart and maybe a redemption. She was hesitant to them torturing June to get information, and it looked like what June said almost got through to her. Then they brought in a child in order to get June to talk and children are what Lydia cares about most of all. She got really angry at the commanders and aunts for not letting her get back to work and now she’s actually working together with Joseph, who we know hates Gilead and wants things to change. I don’t think Lydia will ever let her grudge against June go, like we probably won’t see them working together officially. But maybe she might still help the resistance in some way?

It’s not really the same plot pattern...she tried to get out the first time and the plane was shot down. The second time, she just had been reunited with Hannah and told Hannah she would try to see her again. She realized she couldn’t leave and break that promise. I think she will get out now only because she realized after Hannah was scared of her that she wouldn’t be able to discreetly get her out.

June needs to come clean about Caleb, Janine deserves a chance to grieve her son because what's going to happen when she gets Hannah back or of Gilead does eventually fall and they start reuniting families? She's gonna spend the rest of her life waiting for a little boy that's not ever going to come back and I think it's time June stop treating Janine like a fragile child when she is clearly a lot stronger than anyone giver her credit for. I think Janine shut down and became so immature and bizarre as a way to deal with her Trauma but it's very clear she's starting to get back to that tough, badass she was before Gilead.

I think that she is going to go back with her though. She will have access to sooo much more resources to find Hannah. There is so much story plot they will be able to get out of the show if she goes back. The Waterfords, Luke, nicole, Moira, that gilmore girl, her old Martha... she could get in contact with Nick and commander Joseph and work with them from the inside... there is zero chance they wont jump at the opportunity to use all that.

The more I watch the more I appreciate Like. It’s easy to root for Nick because it’s the relationship the show follows, but Nick actively fought to make Gilead. He doesn’t listen to what June wants. June wants Hannah safe and doesn’t care about herself, Nick should respect that more instead of using Hannah to get what he wants. Luke on the other hand has been working freaking hard to respect June’s decisions and loves her child even though he knew Nichole came from a voluntary affair. He doesn’t even hold it against June and is making sure the Canadian public sees her as a saint so if Canada tries to send her back to appease Gilead the whole country would riot. If Janine is dead I hope it’s like the hunger games and June wouldn’t be able to forgive Nick for the bombing.

Theory : Janine is definitely not dead ( a regular character who dies like that don't exist) but Janine is going to die at some point in the story (maybe not this season) she is a tragic character, and when that does happen it will potentially be the most cathartic and emotional scene of the show. Because it will leave a huge impact for June's character, and june will have a hard time getting over it, maybe she'll sacrifice herself for a good cause, and maybe it'll have to do with Caleb.

The powers that be will continue to use Hannah to bait June so long as the regime still stands. June could contribute more than anyone to intelligence/efforts to destabilize Gilead in Canada and if anything expedite the process? Hannah's emotional connection to June is already strained right now, it's not like rescuing her any sooner is going to improve that (which isn't to say they won't reconnect when this is all over). I don't understand why the writers keep this up? If anything having the opportunity to reconnect with Holly would help empower June?

@@livKail3abe not saying she doesn't love Hannah it's clear she does. But how exactly does she think she's going to rescue her? Talking to her isn't an option (she's brainwashed and needs to be deprogrammed) . breaking in drugging her and dragging her limp body out (she'd be shot on sight or put on the wall and she can't drag a body across the country). Hannah is safe getting fed and isn't being physically abused (yet ) so the best option for June is to escape and come back later it's just common sense . It's a tough decision but a necessary one . Also I have kids :)

Nick's character makes no sense. He is not fully on board with the ethics and beliefs of Gilead or he would have accepted the wife they chose for him and he would not be helping June. So why doesn't he just defect? Perhaps once he is at "the front" he may have the opportunity to do so.

I literally avoided this show when it frist came out. I didnt want to explore the story or even think about it. But every time I saw a article about it i was compelled to Read. I finally broke down last week and started season 1 on Hulu. I was utterlly blown away!! As a Father Husband and Man I completely Humbled! Though this is a work of fiction I can see in so may ways some things can tilt into reality. SAVE HANNAH!!

My theory is that Janine is still alive. Simply because if the fact that other times when we thought other characters were dead, they actually lived. Most of the time if a character dies they show that one screen to have no doubts. But June should go to Canada and try to fight it from the other side. She will be with Hannah again

I feel like at this point June doesn’t even want to leave. She’s had many chances to escape but she kept choosing to stay in Gilead ‘for Hannah’, which doesn’t really make sense because in the last episode Hannah was scared of her. I think June just wants to stay because she feels like she has some power in Gilead and/or she just wants to be a ‘hero’ and rebel against everyone.
