Um dos elementos que tornam essa cena forte é como o inquisidor da June faz com naturalidade aquele monte de perguntas absurdas. Aquele regime só conseguiu se impor por causa de pessoas como ele, dispostas a fazer essas coisas.

That's something I didn't get about this show. So often you see just extreme physical violence on handmaids who are in placements. Since they don't allow pregnancy tests, you'd have to assume any placed handmaid is potentially pregnant. So I just didn't understand how aunts and gradians could get away with being so physically violent toward the handmaids. If I remember right, in the original book, handmaids were rarely touched. There were horrible abuses yes, but they were handed out carefully and in a controlled way, so as not to kill the handmaid or damage her fertility.

Vi que poucos homens sentiram empatia pelas mulheres durante e depois da série, a maioria não apoia a mulher qusndo é vítima de abuso e continuam chamando a luta por direitos iguais e autonomia dos corpos femininos de mimimi.
