The Harbinger of Feasts and Fury: The Story of the Sea Hawk and the Sailor

LOCATION: Badis, Alhuceima
The calm waters of Badis bay have no secrets that Lmkadem El Hassan does not already know. The old fisherman has been navigating this part of the Meditteranean for 40 years. He watches the surface with great attention but always keeps a weather eye skyward scanning for a dependable companion, the Sea Hawk.
This bird of prey who lives in the steep cliffs that line the shore is a protected species. Its presence in the region has inspired the foundation of the Natural reserve of Al Hoceima.
As the Osprey uses the winds to fly swiftly above the sea, it is also the first to know of oncoming storms and thus serves as a helpful warning system for the fishermen who must get back to shore before it is too late.
But today there is a new threat that faces the seafaring duo… Scarcity.
