There's a creature similar to a seahorse called a seadragon, the males get pregnant too. Whether a crab breathes air or water depends on it's species. An albino Robin still has a red belly. Zebras have black skin and white fur, the stripes are naked areas. Ankylosaurus fossils are found upside down 75% of the time. Giant squids actually exist. Sharks, manta rays, dolphins, and platypi all have the ability to see using electricity. Dodo birds had no common predators until humans, that's why they went extinct. Rabbits aren't rodents. Girls have better color vision and more taste buds. Dinosaurs had hollow bones. Dragon flys used to be about 16 inches long. The flying squirrel isn't a rodent, it's a marsupial.
@galactistarstudios6 жыл бұрын
"the giant squid actually exists" you idiot you think its a myth? ever heard of a colossal squid?
@sillywilly67836 жыл бұрын
Giant squid are a real species but they are a bit smaller than a colossal squid
@xDarkestDemonx5 жыл бұрын
Oh boy, where to start... The seadragon is closely related to the sea horse, they both belong to the same genus and are just different species. The stripes of Zebras ore NOT naked areas. Just search for Zebra fur and you'll see it. Albino Robins don't have red bellies, otherwise they won't be considered albinos. Albinism is a term to discribe individuals who, because of a mutation, don't produce melanin and thus don't have any skin/fur/eye color. There is a type of Robin which has white feathers and a red belly, but they are not albinos. There is literally a species that's called Giant Squid, so of course they exist. Tho the mythological creature that you seem to be alluding to is NOT a squid, it's an octopus (kraken). And those are usually VERY small, so the mythic creature doesn't exist regardless. Don't even know what to say about that. Yes and no. Reason for their extinction were probably diseases carried by rats and other animals who were brought in by the voyagers. Examples are pigs and apes, which destroyed their nests and ate their eggs. Saying "Dinosaurs had hollow bones" is like saying "flowers are yellow". True for some, but frankly not for all of them. The Tyrannosaurus for example indeed had hollow bones to compensate the sheer mass of its own body. The Triceratops did not. Dinosaur is a way too unspecific term to make any correct statements. The only thing all of them have in common is that they are (most likely) all extinct. Wrong, the flying squirrel is a rodent, as it's a kind of squirrel. Maybe you mean the sugar glider, a similar animal which is a kind of possum and also has the ability to glide. This animal, indeed, is a marsupial. Allways check your "cool facts" before you share them somewhere please.
@Ikajo5 жыл бұрын
@@xDarkestDemonx Modern birds are basically dinosaurs... Since most dinosaurs had feathers. There were other types of creatures that no longer exist but they are not classified as dinosaurs...
@xDarkestDemonx5 жыл бұрын
@@Ikajo Again, false. That's a pretty good example of superficial knowledge. "Most dinosaurs had feathers" is just flat out false. There were some dinosaurs that had feathers in the later eras, those were usually quite small and predatory. Some could fly, some could not. However, they are not -by any means- exemplary for dinosaurs. So it's just as false to say "birds are the descendants of dinosaurs" as it's to say that all dinosaurs had hollow bones. In the grand scheme it's simply not true or rather not completely true.

The Mantis Shrimp is a species of crustacean that kills its prey using its lightning fast claws. The force it produces in less than a second could break aquarium glass. The force and speed Is so powerful, that the water around the Mantis Shrimp boils and small sparks of light appear around it. Many people overlook the danger of the Mantis Shrimp because of its beauty. It often looks like a rainbow threw up on the shrimp. But if you come too close to one of these creatures, they may cause you a trip to the emergency room.

Weird shark fact: When a shark is pregnant, they start with 20 babies in the uterus. But, they don't have ambilical cords connected so the mother can't provide their food so at the end so, at the end there are 3 sharks who eat all the other sharks to stay alive. And yes basically, Sharks are cannibals. 😐
@octodude68156 жыл бұрын
The reproductive strategy you are describing is called intrauterine cannibalism, which so far as I know is only practiced by the Sand Tiger Sharks (who end up with only 2 pups; one per uterus). Different species of sharks practice different reproductive strategies, from egg laying, to the eggs that hatch in the body some time prior to live birth (at least some of whom practice oophagy, where the embryonic pups are fed by the mother's unfertilized eggs), to actual placentation, with actual umbilical cords. It's pretty crazy. :-)

Interesting fact about cuttlefish: Generally, the larger male cuttlefishes would succeed in winning the female cuttlefishes to mate. The smaller males can still mate with the females, however, by disguising themselves as females. The large male cuttlefish will think the small male is a female, so he would let the small male swim by with the female so that the large male can have two mates. However, once the small male reaches with the real female, he could then mate with her, foiling the efforts of the larger male.

Funny as this sketch is: slight correction on male seahorse "pregnancy". The male seahorse still fertilizes the female so he impregnates her, but she lays the eggs inside his pouch, so he carries and protects them while the eggs develop and finally hatch. Tldr; sea creatures are weird.
