Cap, I beg to disagree with you, a chemistry degree gives you some heavy duty skills, you can still apply for your engineering license in many states.

@@DJ-nomadlife I know a guy from college, had a couple classes in the same major. He ended up going back for an MBA ; then proceeds to hit me up on LinkedIn trying to find a job. Two separate times. Can’t make this sh*t up

Holy crap, he got a chemistry degree and pick a wrong job as a teacher. Chemistry is a hard degree and requires to be expert in calculus, physics, biology in biochemistry and complex chemistry.

HR people are so sweet nothings useless in technical hiring. As a hiring manager, I had to do their job after 2 HR gals couldn't do the job.

@@pranavpillai7778 Sure, but you have to be realistic. For example, instead of getting a degree in film and being broke your entire life, get a degree in electrical engineering and earn $70-90k right out of school then do film making in your free time.

I'm 25 and I'm a producer and writer. I don't pay the bills with it, but I'd blow my old production teachers tracks out of the water now. I may not be rich, but I actually DID the production thing and made genuinely good sounding songs. They just skated by basically

$80 per hour to tutor kids in math? Had an LLC and a secretary? The fuck... Charge half that, do your own scheduling and teach. Charge parents cash to tutor and pay no taxes. If demand got overwhelming yeah you charge more. An LLC for what other students do for extra credit....

For some people it's fulfilling, as long as... you know, those stupid kids grow up to have impressive job titles. Everyone else is screwed--you've wasted your time and money if those ungrateful little bastards don't grow up to spend the remainder of your life kissing your ass over how hard you worked :) Pretty much everyone who's whole life revolves around having kids is both very tired and bored to death. It only pays off if they grow up to have impressive and/or intimidating job titles, and ideally, your grandkids are well on-track to the same thing. That's it. Then, it was all "worth it"--bringing money, power, and status into the family. Everyone else needs to find something they like to do with their lives.

Yeah, because having your children punished at school for playing tag or hugging their friends is totally worth it. It is what it is; fuck what it could've been. People don't even live anymore, they just stare at screens. Quit the pot, quit the beer, quit the pills and you'll see snakes everywhere!
