Having said that, I cant believe how you said that you weren't that fit and yet you had the stamina to push through all 14 matches. You are a huge inspiration👏👏

@@tobiaswadenka8435 insight about the mental game, so not loosing focus even when its 20:15 for your opponents & how do you pass time between matches? I find that on the more tricky site, do you try and analyze other players or rather your own performence on the tournament so far, what and how much do you eat inbetween? That would be quite interesting :) and congratulations on your great tournament of course! ^^

Congratulations Tobias on reaching all finals and getting at least a Win. Those cramps are hard even when properly hydrated. And props for hanging until the end in MS, that is just mind boggling. I also did MS and MD, and had to quit MS in the semi with me winning 1st, and leading 18-9 on the second, had so many cramps everywhere, could barely walk.

That was insane, probably worth a Guiness world record for the best performance out of 3 categories competition run. Also I'm surprised to see You're such an all rounder, your reflexes and technical skills are so sharp.. It was cool to see those wining points out of the drop shots variations, winning point with the brain instead of the power to save energy.
Enjoyed watching the details of the competition. You did great as you were participating in all three categories. 👍

this was totally monster. had to smile at the pale face early morning of the second day talking about the rough night following a marathon of matches when fitness and readiness is less than peak. and (sorry) laughing @11:29 when you've finished the doubles final and are going into singles saying you dont see yourself moving at all and looking like you are ready for 24 hours at a spa. and the way you tough it out with cramps and things starting to shut down during those last two games was just amazing i have one word of advice for you: aspirin. seriously. not tylenol (acetaminophen) nor motrin (ibuprofen), but just one plain old regular strength aspirin before or after you play. you'll notice a big difference in post-match pain/inflammation and recovery time and obviously, this kind of crazy thing requires peak cardio-vascular and musculo-skeletal fitness, and even then, there is no way your body can replace micronutrients and repair damage fast enough to keep up with these sorts of demands. i'm watching the way your legs are working out there, with kinda extreme output like the sport requires, and am surprised you lasted as long as you did you've put out a number of good videos, but this was one of the best. you showed enough of the match contents in HD that, beyond the entertainment value, there are lessons to be learned here. for example, early on your lunges are spectacular, deep, fast and penetrating, allowing you to take the shuttle early and put your opponents under pressure. when you completely lose your lunge halfway through the last match and have to rely only on hand skills, you lose control of the court, although you make some incredible points with hand skills alone. lesson there is deep, effective lunges to take the shuttle early are an essential ingredient of a winning match up until you lost your legs, you looked awesome out there. thanks for sharing 'dont put that in your video.' 'of course i'm going to put it in there.'

@tobiaswadenka8435 Жыл бұрын
I think the biggest key is food and hydration. Usually I don't take many supplements but I had a lot of stuff with me because I knew I will only have short breaks inbetween matches and not enough time for bigger meals. I also went to see the physio a few times and especially in the evening after the matches a lot of stretching but not in between. It is super hard to get back on court, when you take all the tension of your muscles. For sleep there was no time in between matches but I tried to get as much as possible after the first day. I hope that answers the question, maybe also an idea to focus on that topic for the next vlog. Kind regards!

Congratulations for your win. Quite impressed that you did not give up even with the cramps. A question for you - are most badminton courts in Germany wooden with no synthetic mat on top ? Also it looks like it's a multi-sport court. What difference did you observe when playing on one(wooden) over the other(synthetic on top of wooden), and which do you prefer ?
@tobiaswadenka8435 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! We have mainly multi sport halls here in Germany, but most of the times the floor is synthetic, not wooden. On higher tournaments like the nationals or in league matches for example we also play on court mats and it is a lot nicer to play there, because you have more grip and of course no distraction with other lines
