@acrock21 It's racing... Not fun when many drivers was taken out but shit happens. Kevin got wrecked when he was leading at the last lap at the Freedom Factory in a pretty ugly way by Kurt Busch at the 2021 2.4 Hours of LeMullets, but it's racing. And if nothing ever happens in racing it gets boring. Kevin normally race clean and is a really good driver, everyone can make bad choices. He explained what happened on his YT channel.

@@jiminauburn5073 you act like ucar/street stock and all of the other non chassis cars aren’t built for it… maybe not compared to her chassis truck and dirt car. But a Vic as a non chassis racecar is one of the safest vehicles to be in. I think the real danger is racing with non professional personalities. They don’t understand the danger of actually hitting a wall and treat it like gokart racing where you bounce off and are fine to keep going.

Yeah.. but still... I've never raced IRL! BUT I've raced 100,000's of laps on iracing.. There is something called racecraft.. and everyone knows, you dont push in the corners, especially on the gas on exit. I was screaming what an idiot when it happened because I knew exactly what kevin did... The fact that he made the mistake, and apologized still doesnt fix the fact that he took out alot of people!! HOWEVER.. at least MAYBE moving forward, he wont do such a thing! Personally, I'd add him to the list.. and get him back in the future, sometimes thats really the only way to teach someone..!! After seeing that seat at the 8:55 mark, I think Cleetus and the team may need to build cages and seats to accommodate HAAS devices for the next Crown Vic derby. That crash could have ended way worse for everyone involved. The Crown Vic races started off as a bit of fun but it is now on a whole new level. As they say on the streets, 'It's all fun and games until someone has to call an ambulance.'

but they are safe.. this proved it LOL it was two drivers.. one experienced and got a little too aggressive early and the other shouldnt have been racing aggressively to begin with as he over corrected and was the actual cause of the accident.. shrugs.. not more can be done with the cars... they have seats and cages and window nets besides the build from the factory as the crown vics are made to be tough for police work to begin with. maybe better strengthening of the seats and mounts for them...

Your breakdown of what happened was awesome I really like the way you explain that to everybody and how you didn’t blame anybody and for one second it look like you might’ve been out while the radiator was pouring on you and then all of a sudden you snap to look at it real close cause I think you might’ve been out. Hopefully from now on you all get Hans devices so all you guys can have a little bit better neck restraint glad everybody’s OK and like you said it’s Racin nobody did that on purpose. PS This is also why everybody should be wearing full protection gloves which I noticed you weren’t but got lucky because even if you’re not going a ludicrous speed bad things can happen and complete safety protection could save someone from a serious injury . The racing seat failure in the crash is a HUGE red flag. Driver obtain serious injuries and die from racing seat failure, I’ve seen it a couple times in my career and Hallie was lucky to get away with bruises and sore muscles. I have a feeling her friends at Ford put a stop to this kind of thing as she cannot afford to get injured and miss any truck races or other obligations.

Pool noodles aren't roll bar padding but that was a great idea and it's way better than a bare roll bar. If you hadn't done that, I think you would have been hurt a lot worse. I know Kevin from KSR is feeling really bad about this. He just got caught up in the moment. I feel bad for everyone involved in the crash but especially for Kevin. He did not want that to happen.

YIKES!!!! So glad you're ok. That was a super gnarly hit in a car with bare minimum safety in it. Nothing on Cleetus, I know that's the last thing he wants to see happen, but maybe that's gonna be a bit of a wake up call that taking these cars to a track with that much speed potential is a little risky unless there's further improvements to those "race cars".

@@loganlachance1890 Nah. It doesn't take an engineer to realize these cars need actual cages and the racing seat to be mounted to the frame. All he has to do is look at Indianapolis speedrome's rulebook for this car.

The cars are severely lacking in the safety department especially now that they are doing bigger tracks. Need full cages, full containment seats, and jesus the window nets are screwed to the door. How do you get out in a hurry if the thing is on fire and the doors are blocked? Cleetus had to climb out the passenger side of his car in the wreck.

@@mindedchaos yeah thats a way to look at it. They got LUCKY. Tons of crashes happened without a head and neck restraint device without deaths, and then Earnhardt died. And now every series requires it. Safety is a moving target and these cars arent even remotely on par with any motorsports safety standards at all for today's standards. Its embarrassing.

I stopped and did some frame by frame slow motion at 7:28 or so you were soooo smart to add padding to the bars! Look how far you moved to the center of the car at impact then arm is in the pad next frame....explains the belt getting up into your neck too. Best of luck and keep getting sharper out there!

They aren't that heavy. Stock they weight 600 more lbs than a sprint cup car and were going half as fast. They also have the interior stripped out so even with a cage its weight is at or under 3,900lbs
