You can sing! I don’t understand why everyone says they can’t. If you feel like signing please sing on the videos again. Lovely moment of joy to share with us. Thank you :)
@MaiuLunekund5 жыл бұрын
You are very correct, I shouldn't say "I can't sing" as it's the same as people saying "I can't draw" witch drives me crazy! Everyone can draw and yes, everyone can sing as well :)

I'm enjoying your fab trip report.. good filming editing and commenting.. And yesh! There are many glaciers in the alps! Although perhaps busier with walkers, the alps may be just as gorgeous as NS. And there the wildlife bonus of deer boar fox and goat.. and not so crazy far.. Cheers! Awesome trip. Off to the next

It seems you both have suffered a great many sand fly bites. Is there nothing you can put on to repel them? Some of the countryside that you have shown us reminds me of places in my own state where I have hiked and camped. I'm glad you and your mom had the opportunity to experience New Zealand. It is on my bucket list to visit my sister in Auckland some day. All the best to you and your mom. Stay safe out there.

We had a repellant with us but we were too lazy to put it on all the time 😅

re: your Apricot snack bar. I got some OSM bread in Jackson Wyoming while visiting National Parks last year. If I remember correctly, OSM stands for Oat, Sunflower and Millet seed. The bread was great too...

The Etsy link in the corner of video didn't work for me (the 'i'). However the regular link to Etsy in the video description box near the bottom does work. Or search for hiker in estonia on the etsy homepage if you have the same problem.

Mrs. Estonia 🤗 How many calories in that snack bar ?? As u know hiking requires calories to fuel the body. Would you recommend that bar??
@eturnerx5 жыл бұрын
Two of those bars are about 670 calories (one square meal). I often have a single bar for lunch, particularly if I've been snacking.

I still have a scar on my toe from the sandfly that bit me in Punakaiki. People told me sandyflies are the best hidden secret NZ has ;)
@paulsmith61845 жыл бұрын
Sandflies are not really a secret. Ask any local and they will tell you about them and recommend a repellent. I went on a boat cruise in Doubtful Sound. Here you have to access the Sound via Lake Manapouri's West Arm (where the power station is). The sandflies here are on steroids. Every tour operator's brochure says in large print "you MUST bring insect repellent". Being a local, I had some but I was the only person onboard who did.

Thanks for the video! I was in Queenstown at the start of Autumn and it was stunning. I see you have discovered the OSM bars! One square (two bars) is nearly 700 calories! Though I normally only eat one for lunch - preferring a big breakfast and dinner.

Jim Rodgers . One of beauties of NZ is the fact we only have one really poisonous animal and that’s a relation of the Australian Red back spider called the Katipo spider. No snakes, no bears, no crocs. NO TICKS .No nothing else. Occasional great white shark but if anyone wants to swim in their living room then?? 😁
