If it’s successful, that new somatic graft new creation would be sooo cool! Fingers crossed! Also, speaking of fingers crossed, I was super nervous about your fingers with that sharp grafting knife - please be careful!

I saw a random video of a dude named creative explained. I forgot what video it was about, but it gave me an idea for my grafting . I remembered it had to do with using an Aloe Vera leave cutting

Was nervous watching that blade slicing towards you when it got messed up. Yikes. Thought you need thorns for growth. Will be amazed seeing growth. Interesting experiment.

I've also made my first tries at this technique, 7 tries. Time will tell if it works.

have you tried using a gouge chisel to try getting the graft more flush? might help with gap issues.

Hello, why do you remove all the buds or thorns or how does this type of graft work?

I've seen some pretty unique things occur with these plants. There is a screenshot in this video as an example.

Dear Paul Yyou have removed the thorns of both grafted branches. How will a new shoot/branch come out of this graft?

I've seen new growth come out of all different places on these amazing plants. Even a node that made 2 flower buds and a fruit over 2 seasons.

New growth, but still evaluating the plant. Many people have tried it around the world now, I think someone will repeat the success.

I've noticed you removed all the thorns of both stems. Now I'm really confused How and from where new stem gonna come out? I know that dragon stem or fruit only comes from thorns. Rip my English

I've seen evidence where it's possible. They are well rooted and in the greenhouse very, very plump.

do you know if dragon fruit grafts onto cereus peruvianus?
@RAREDRAGONFRUIT

Good question. I've seen pictures of hylocereus on opuntia rootstocks, but it may have never grown. I should try sometime to see.

@@RAREDRAGONFRUIT thanks , if it grows on the opuntia which is a different genus odds are good for columnar cactus of the same genus that have similar flowers and fruit.

@@RAREDRAGONFRUIT Hi Paul, i grafted a Purple Haze on an Opuntia Ficus Indica and it grew about a meter. Unfortuately, a water stagnation caused the rootstock to rot. Now that cutting has roots and grows without being grafted

Hey Paul, would you be able to send me your email address? I want to send you a picture of my own attempt inspired by one of your videos. I used the V-cut method and it looks promising. Only the flower and fruit will confirm. I think you'll be interested anyhow.
