Wales, let’s go!!
What an amazing country filled with warm and welcoming people.
I wanted to bag Crib Goch and Snowdon for a couple of years now. Two weeks before Viv and I set off, while doing some last-minute research I realised there’s another, more exciting and longer circuit on this mountain range, the Horseshoe.
The Horseshoe route goes over all of the main ridges and peaks on the east side of Snowdon (Crib Goch, Garnedd Ugain, Snowdon and Y Lliwedd).
We started off at Pen y Pass (well, a bit below…) via PYG Track and finished on the Miner’s track. It took us around 9 hours to do and we covered something around 12 km.
Now I have to warn everyone, you’re not promised the same weather we got… but regardless of the weather, the views and mountains are stunning.
During the hike I challenged myself to stay mainly on the middle of the ridge on Crib Goch, this isn’t a requirement when doing the route. You have safer options for crossing it by keeping mainly on it’s left side, so go out there and give it a go!
Big thanks to Viv for having that steady hand and being a hardcore camerawoman 😉
