How anyone can talk, carry a camera, and smile while running a marathon aaandddd get a PB is beyond me. Congratulations! Thank you for taking us along your little stroll around London. I really do appreciate your making the effort in sharing with us your race experience with these videos.

Haha I think I would struggle more over a shorter distance with the filming and talking! To be honest it was a nice distraction at times! Thanks very much for the support and for watching the videos 🙏🏻

Really brought a smile to my face at the end when you're hobbling down the stairs, I was the same way the first and only time I ran London. I'm also in awe that you carried a GoPro the whole race, you must have arms like steel.
@maisie_runs6 ай бұрын
Haha aww thanks for watching and commenting! I had to walk down some backwards too 😂😂. The camera I used was actually tiny, so luckily I didn’t get much arm ache 😂👏🏻

Great video and congratulations on the PB! I love the marathon and have a dream of a sub-4 (5 hour 40 mins is my current PB), I'm definitely going to run London next year.

Thanks so much for watching and commenting - really appreciate it! That’s awesome, my dream was always sub 4 as well, it blows my mind I got there, it took a few attempts and many years! London is just the best, hope you get to experience it 👌🏼🙏🏻

A fast PB on the back of a two week sinus infection and no sleep and you STILL made it look effortless. The hardest part seemed to be getting down the stairs at the end. Congratulations on the PB AND defeating the stairs!
@maisie_runs9 ай бұрын
Haha thanks Gary! Definitely wasn’t effortless, but I’ll take it 😂👏🏻 and the stairs were definitely the worst bit! Thanks for watching 😀

Well done Maisie. You actually look pretty good at the end -- I know you were saying how hard it was and all but from your form and everything you looked rock solid. Congrats on your race finish -- marathons simply never get easier. I've done a bunch of them and you just never know how they are going to go. It's been a while since I've done one but I'd love to do London some day (I live in the US though). Keep it up and I enjoyed your video.

Thanks Eddie - really appreciate your comments and thank you for watching. Externally I defiantly didn’t look to be struggling too much, I’ve done a lot of work on strength training the last 18 months which has definitely helped. The main issue I was having was really bad back/neck pain, which I’ve never had before and I think was more to the illness I had before the race. But you are so right, marathons never seem to get easier! London is just amazing and I really hope you get to experience it one day! Thanks again for your support 😁

Big congrats.... I feel ya. I was broken this year after having done paris and boston 14 days earlier 😢. But i got incredible footage of the fans cheering the runners.... So that is a win😁👍

@@maisie_runs me too. Today i ran 20k and 5:15min/km was a struggle. Besides my recent boston and london videos, i usually walk over the line like i had a jog. It's all about volume mainly 👍👍

@@maisie_runs no need to rush back Maisie! I took 10 days off from running off my marathon the other week, but it now feels good to be back! I’ve never tried Kiprun shoes and would take a lot to steer me away from Saucony and adidas

Well done! How's running with a camera? Does it make it worse or take your mind of the running?
@maisie_runs9 ай бұрын
Thanks Ben! It was fine, for this video I used the small insta 360 so it’s tiny and fit in my front pocket. In terms of actually filming it was quite good as gave me something else to focus on and tick down the distance. For a 3:53 run I only filmed a few minutes of footage so it feels pretty minimal overall 😀

Thank you! Honest answer here - I’m not completely sure. It has always been higher than the standard calculation, but I hadn’t seen it go above 200 for a good few years, but at one point in this race I saw 206! However, this was from a my Garmin without a HR chest strap, so I’ll take that with a pinch of salt. Although I can easily hit 190s in a tough interval session.
