In episode 4 of this Western Wyoming Public Land Mule Deer hunt, only 1 tag remains unfilled. It is now Randy's turn to focus on finding a public land buck to shoot as Beau Baty and Lorenzo Sartini have already filled their tags. Early before sunrise, they head to a glassing knob in hopes to turn up a good buck.
Part way through the day the plan is for cameramen to switch, so Jonathan hikes out and swaps duties with Marcus Hockett who is hiking in. On the way in Marcus gets uncomfortably close to a bull moose who is rutting.
That evening Randy spots a great buck that he decides to go after. He's bedded out in the open, making for a difficult stalk. Randy slowly inches within range but has a hard time getting a good opportunity. Using their Mystery Ranch packs to create a makeshift shooting rest, he steadies his aim and pulls the trigger on a mature public land mule deer.
Record books are not important, but the story of the people and places are. This wraps up a story that will last with these hunters forever. Deer camp, elk, camp, any camp, is a special time with special people.

@@Fresh_Tracks To see a guy, stroke the the deer he’s just killed, to revere it with a tinge of remorse,...to see a guy who hunts more than most but who retains a sense of wonder for the wild and recognize the blessings that surround him is profoundly refreshing when regularly confronted by fist pumping, smack laying, yea baby, dolts. Congrats Randy! The ending to this video is perfect and I am one that feels the same way. My most memorable was exactly a year ago. I had always dreamed of a hunt out west and 28 years ago I thought it was going to happen when 2 weeks before the hunt I had a car vs deer wreck that broke my neck and left me a quadriplegic. Fast forward 27 years later an org called WY Disabled Hunters granted me a hunt and I was successful in harvesting a cow elk just outside of Cody WY. Sweet memories and the friends I made will last a lifetime.

God. I've had a few great hunting trips. Hard to pick the best one would be antelope hunting in Wyoming with my wife dad mom gpa dad and I got 2 great bucks I shot mine at 800 yards with my mom's 244 6mm. I came from ca.on leave from the Nave hadn't shot in years. But know how dad loaded shells. Both dad in I took on this one buck I asked my dad how's this gun shoot he said 2 inches high at 100 dead on at 5:00 so we rested he shot first envelope jumped way up in the air come down at a dead stop stood there it seemed like for a minute but it must have been God 10 15 seconds I took my shot heard the report down the antelope went one shot one kill both dad and I and mom walked it off it walked off at 900 yards we made a decision it was 8:00 best time of my life

Isnt the point of this show to be an example to other hunters and non hunters to not take risky shots? Randy even said,"itll be a miricle if i make this shot." I love alot of your guys content but this is setting a poor example for other hunters and non hunters who think we just sling bullets at animals holing to get it. Imagine carrying a 4lb tripod with an ARCA attachment for your rifle. All that pissing around with the bag would be avoided and there would be no doubt you fould hit what youre aiming at.

Randy, you always seem to find a way to get it done on the last day! I love that. That's the sign of a real hunter. You guys are awesome! 3 for 3!! Great deer Randy! What an amazing hunt. This last season was spectacular. I saw so many good deer, huge numbers of Moose, heard wolves, saw a bunch of Elk. Just an amazing year of abundance of wildlife! I got a decent Mulie in Wy as well. Had a great time this year! btw, you guys have every right to be exhausted after all that. That is the best feeling when everyone has tagged out and it's the last morning before packing up and heading out. I didn't realize you guys had 9 llamas with you till the end! Great mass on that buck Randy!

Wow, those moose gave no effs. Bullwinkle at close quarters? Don't blame ya for pulling out the spray. Geez! Well done, gentleman. Only time I've ever had a tagged-out camp was when I was hunting alone. LOL

Awesome video with the real time emotion we go through on a hunt. The ups and downs and then to have it all come together in the end wow! Doesn't always or even often work out that way but when it does that's why we keep trying!

What a Buckster! Congrats! Sometimes carrying a bi-pod is well worth it's weight especially in moments like this(even if you just keep in the pack) But who needs one with Randy behind the rifle anyway lol. Great shot! As always awesome content. Thank you =]

A great hunt in some of the most beautiful country on the planet.. Right up there with Wyoming F & G's migration documentary. I'm assuming that for an encore you're going to reveal how to draw a tag before the average person is dead. My best hunt was about 250 miles northeast of this one. As the raven flies.

Congratulations on the harvest. Those hard hunts are the best. Nothing but hard here in SC mountains. Glassing is not an option. Can be mentally exhausting, but it’s a hoot to hunt. When things clear up, take a hunting trip to the mountains in SC, NC, or TN. NC has the most bears.

Wow, what a beautiful story! Well produced! Congratulations to all of you. Beau, you are a dude! I wish to have the opportunity to share a camp with you someday, some place. Peace to you all!~ I have been blessed to hunt for 40 years. To date, the best hunts that have occurred have been with my sons and firsts. First deer, boar and elk. Did not have to shoot, got to do the gilling and gutting. Warm hearts, full freezers!

I don't know if other sports or pastimes can create the equivalent feeling of trying to wrangle a semi-decent shooting rest, on a hillside, in the wind, as it's getting late, at a monster buck. Hurry up. Take your time. That's solid enough...damn it, no it's not. This is steady...no it isn't. My back is seizing up.... Great footage and a great buck.

Wow that was an amazing hunt. Quality people and great friends made it all possible. Always have been a lone hunter and now in my sixties I wish I had played it different when I was younger. This type of hunt is something I have always dreamed of. Would love to have a couple of llamas to help me now as my last elk nearly killled me in the 3 days it took me to get it home.
