Finally someone with real and helpful information.

We run across this issue a lot in Minnesota. We downstream 8 oz of La awesome in a 5 gallon pail of water work bottom to top and scrub side to side. The bubbles help a lot and it rinsed off well. Very labor intensive. We 3x our normal house wash price. We have good luck with the ettore screen dusting brush with articulating handle.

It's definitely a pain to deal with and we spend lots of time educating our customers on the process. We also 3x our base house wash price to remove. It's a hurdle for some but the results are fantastic.

Great job! 👍🏻 I’d like to see the actual process, product and brushes you use. Maybe you already have a video on that? Anyway good job.

I live in Tn and my house is Hardie and painted a dark blue but I have the worst trouble washing every spring with spider webs sticking to the board as well as the red dirt dust here I have to use a soft brush it takes forever and it’s back breaking work over a week or two and I have a very high roof and I have not tackled the upper portion of the house and so it is gross I would hire someone but I am scared they will mess up the paint or damage it somehow no one seems to even want to without costing a small fortune but this was helpful info enjoyed the video!😊

i have enjoyed watching the videos on the Hardie board. I have a few like this as well that do not have organics but are just dirty from construction here in Arkansas. I was wondering if you have ever tried Eaco Chem HD Britenol ? or even One Restore ? I agree trying to eliminate the physical brushing of every board process. I do not need always need oxidation removal but seems like brushing everything to just clean it is pretty much the same as oxidation removal.

Hey Scott thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I have not tried EaCo Chem HD just yet but I just purchased a bottle and plan on doing a video on this product soon. I would love to find a spray on solution to remove the baked-on dirt that we are seeing on Hardie board here in Colorado. Stay tuned.. Putting it to the test soon!

@@mountainviewsoftwash9135 sweet. I've tried to research it but there is nothing I can find that shows it with Hardie board like we are trying to clean. Excited to see your results.

i really like your set up! Did you do it yourself or pick it up from someone? Would you make a video going through your truck? I don't think i have seen many people run clear hose, which is very interesting.

Great comparison. How do you price it compared to a normal house Wash? 3x? 4x?
@mountainviewsoftwash91352 жыл бұрын
Great question, we charge .24 on a normal home wash where ZERO scrubbing is required vs .65-.75 for a home like this that requires every board scrubbed to achieve the desired results.

I live in Texas (Conroe) have Hardi board dark green and it’s a nightmare. Being female I’ve had painters tell me they used 2 different type paints and why it looks so bad. Came across your videos and have discovered just how hard this process is going to be. I tried scrubbing with Dawn soap and water, vinegar and water and a few products found the vinegar does the best but still tons of elbow grease. I’m so glad I found this video because I was going to buy the expensive stuff to try and avoid scrubbing but realize this is the best way to go. My next question is there an automatic scrubber I could use? Thank you so much for the info though. My house is 1000x’s worse than the homes you’ve showed. It was brand new 7 years ago. Also how often once I get it cleaned am I going to have to do this?

I wonder what Dawn does for dirt on hardy board?
@417altavista10 ай бұрын
Thru all that I did not catch what your normal solution is for hardy board. Just surfactant or surfactant and sh? Or??? thanks for the great video.

I tend to avoid washing this stuff… however, they do pay if the customer wants to spend the money. When I started washing this type of siding I found myself in a similar situation having to hand scrub…..what helps is a extendable water lance with a rotating soft bristle brush…you still have to manually clean, however it’s much less labour intensive. The brushes are similar to what they use for cleaning solar panels….

I hear that!! I prefer not to clean Hardie board in our area; unfortunately, most homes have it making this our primary niche. I'm trying to find the best cleaning process to remove the baked-in dirt. We do charge a premium price for the removal, making it worth our time and profitable. I have a few products I'm trying this season and will make additional videos showcasing the results.

Hardy is the WORST! I’ve been cleaning for builders in my area for about 6 years and scrubbing with a degreaser is the best I’ve come up with. I’ve spoken to hardy board reps that explain that the paint is specifically designed to adhere to the concrete so when concrete dust gets in there from cutting it, if not wiped clean right away, will adhere. Regular dirt seems to do the same. And gotta watch what soaps ya use cuz any acid will void the warranty. Thanks for the vids🙏
@mountainviewsoftwash9135 Жыл бұрын
Oh, I totally get what you're saying! We've had a similar experience too. So, you know when the dirt sticks to the board, it's like this powder coating thing going on. It's like the board magically attracts the dirt with an electrostatic charge! 😅 Scrubbing is the only way to deal with it, and I've been on a mission to find a magical spray-on, rinse-off solution, but sadly, I don't think it exists. It can make for some pretty long days, that's for sure! But hey, we've found that using a low-PH soap with some elbow grease gets the job done, so that's a bit of a relief! 🌟

What chemicals do you use to softwash hardie board?.😮😮😮😮
@mountainviewsoftwash9135 Жыл бұрын
Depends on the paint. Typically I will use 1% SH as a PH booster and 1% of our Green and Terra Wash which are proprietary soaps we use to wash
@freeagent6203 Жыл бұрын
So hardy board is painted right? So its not the hardy board thats the culprit, its paint right? So are we talking the same situation with any painted surface?
@mountainviewsoftwash9135 Жыл бұрын
In my experience, I do not see these issues on vinyl or Stucco siding. Here in Colorado, it seems that Hardie Board and other plank-type sidings give us the most trouble when it comes to fully removing the thin layer of dirt that sits on top after a wash.

Have you tried a industrial degreaser or maybe a mild acid like oxalic acid or maybe a citric acid? Perhaps there's iron in the dirt or some type of mineral that gets baked on....🫧
@mountainviewsoftwash9135 Жыл бұрын
Interesting 🤔 I will do some more research.
@RaystownPressureWashing-1996 Жыл бұрын
Oxalic would never be strong enough.....But the acid side of cleaning is better at removing oxidation....Hydrofluoric based aluminum brighteners work very well,... and especially Hydrochloric,...but the stuff is NASTY AF,....If I were gonna use a Hydrochloric based,..I would use a product called "Acid Magic" it's actually Muriatic,..which is basically the same thing,...but less harsh than "regular" (But still very strong)......Keep all acids away from Sodium Hypochlorite....Acid Magic can be found at ACE Hardware....
