Love Barry using his lower register. He can sing anything. And Maurice singing the chorus Be Tender with my Love at the end was outstanding. His voice is rarely featured. Love him. Love the Bee Gees! Period! One of the greatest groups to ever grace the music scene. Ever!

Mo's bass guitar really drives this song. The vocal arraignment is so intricate. This one always reminds of the Philly soul sound
@robinfry4408 Жыл бұрын
Agree!! The arrangement is such ear candy...that bass is the bomb, Mo was the best....the tempo of this song always gets me, IMO, the Gibbs were without peer with their composition, lyrics, vocal delivery & live performance abilities & I include Andy🔥🔥🔥🔥

Definitely spot on. To this day I don't think any bee gees song can top what they did here. The complication of so many vocal ranges and their ability to keep up with those changes within each other's part. Fanny is their masterpiece. Reminds me of the chi lites and blue magic the stylistics just wow and the bees gees could fit right in. So unbelievably brilliant they still awe me.

Such a great song - there's so many more they had before their disco era music. Recommend "Nights on Broadway" to hear all of them mixing highs and lows from person to person so you sometimes can't tell WHO is singing what notes. They were incredibly versatile with their vocal arrangements.

According to Maurice Gibb, producer Quincy Jones called "Fanny" one of his favorite R&B songs of all time.
@joeynarciso94 Жыл бұрын
Probably with that arrangement and the degree of emotion, the harmonies including showcasing Maurice's voice more, that amazing transcendent building up of the passion plus both Barry and Robin doing the falsettos here, like Quincy Jones said - definitely one of the BeeGee's most addictive songs ever!! Just amazing guys!!!

Three brothers, two of them Twins, singing together since 6 (Barry) and 4 (Robin/Maurice) years old. I know of no other group that has harmonies like the Gibb Brothers. They turned it into their signature sound. There are many very good ones, but none better.
@flynntaylor5459 Жыл бұрын
It's a wonderful presentation of all of them and their individual contributions. Just a note 📝 you can't fully appreciate Maurice and robins vocals on this track unless you watch it live... I think so much attention was focused on barry because of his looks that many of us thought he was the sound of this band... but he is NOT. The bees gees sound is really a blend of robin and Barry vocals as a distinct Signature sound and the harmonizing of all three of them. Mo said in an interview that most of the song is robin and Barry singing together and vocally on top of one another. Mo also sings on some low ranges too but he seems content to be the bassman on this particular song. But the true gift of the brothers gibb was there effortlessly flawless harmonies no other band has their ability to fall into each other's vocal ranges perfectly. And they do it naturally. That's pure genius 👏 ❤ and in 50 years it's never sounded different purely smooth as silk.

@@pcaron3521 No, just a fact! All disco was R&B that's danceable. Most of the biggest hit makers of the 70s, the so-called disco movement, denied they were disco 2 of the biggest groups that come to mind are the Bee Gees and KC and the Sunshine band. They claimed they were R&B, so who do I believe, You or the people who wrote & sang the songs? It's not my opinion, it's people like you who falsely label a group and say “It's Your Opinion”! This is the so-called first disco song, if you listen to it well, it is R&B with a groovy beat, that's it really. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nabXdmt_Zbmeaac si=I7F95scuu9NV-Kl1

Love your Bee Gee reactions The Bee Gees were more than just disco! I’m not sure if you’ve reacted to any of these, but here’s a list with my interpretation of what genre I think they fall under: (just disregard the ones you’ve already reacted to) Too Much Heaven (R&B) How Deep Is Your Love (R&B Ballard) Staying Alive (disco) Night Fever (disco) You Should Be Dancing (R&B or disco) Fanny be tender with my love (R&B) Jive Talking (R&B) Nights on Broadway (R&B/Funk) Tragedy (Techno? Pop) More than a woman (Disco/R&B) Love you inside out (Funk/pop) To love somebody (R&B) Massachusetts (pop/country) Wind of Change (funk/r&b), live 1975 from the Midnight Special) Alone (pop) Love So Right (R&B) Words (pop, 1979 Spirits Tour) Lonely Days (pop) You Win Again (pop) Run to Me (pop) How Can you mend a broken heart (R&B) Kiss of Life (rock) Rest Your Love on Me Awhile (country) Bodyguard (R&B) The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor) Some that only the avid Bee Gee fans might know that you might want to react to: My Lover’s Prayer (pop ballard) Letting Go (pop ballard) Subway (R&B) You Stepped Into My life (Funk/r&b) Children of the World (pop) Search, Find (pop or R&B) Songs written by Barry Gibb (that other artists sung), alone or with his brothers (Robin &!Maurice Gibb): If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman) Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand). In fact, Gibb wrote every song on her Guilty CD, and did 2 duets with her. And he did most of the background vocals on a lot of the songs. Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Partons). In fact, Barry wrote all the songs on Kenny's "Eyes that See in the Dark" CD Heartbreaker (Deion Warwick). In fact, Barry wrote every song on this CD too. The Bee Gees also did the Background vocals. Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) and yes, Barry wrote all the songs on this CD too. Barry also did the background vocals. Immortality (Celine Dion) The Bee Gees also sung background. More Than a Woman (Tavares) Love Me (Yvonne Elliman) Come on Over (Olivia Newton John) Emotions (Samantha Sang, with a lot of background vocals with Barry). Destiny's Child also recorded it. Grease--from the movie (Frankie Valli) Heart Beating in Time (Leo Sayer) Let me wake up in your arms (Lulu), who use to be married to Maurice Gibb A lot of Andy Gibb songs (Shadow Dancing, Everlasting Love, Love is Thicker than Water, Our Love, Don't Throw It Away; Desire;)

Robin could reach the falsetto but couldn’t hold the note and move it around like Barry …Barry could also do vibrato but not to the extent of Robin..Maurice could do a short high head voice and was a great bassist.
