Karen was one of a kind. There will never be another like her. She had such a pure calming voice. And she was a terrific drummer. That was her passion even more than singing. Sadly we lost her so young. Thankfully we have her legacy left in her music. The Carpenters had so many great songs such as "We've Only Just Begun", "For All We Know", "Rainy Days & Mondays", "Superstar", "Goodbye To Love", "Top Of The World", "Sing", "Yesterday Once More", "I Won't Last A Day Without You", "Please Mr. Postman", "Only Yesterday", "There's A Kind Of Hush (All Over the World)" & so many more.

Karen Carpenter has such an amazing voice. It’s like the silkiest, smoothest hot chocolate for the soul.

Many have said she has a perfectly flawless voice. Me? I’m jealous!

Wanted to hear Karen sing. The rest is history. She and Richard had beautiful harmonies. It's called blood harmony when two people who are related to each other sound so amazing together. That's what the Bee Gees had as well.

Karen Carpenter was a drummer. She was shy and didn't want to be a lead singer. Her brother Richard wrote their songs and sang, but a producer

I ALWAYS enjoy your reactions! I am glad you got to appreciate this song. I remember hearing it for the first time on my transistor radio walking home from school. It brings back so many nice memories for me. By the way....your look so pretty with short hair!

In real life Karen did not want to be out front singing. She only wanted to play the drums in the back. At the start her brother was the lead vocalist. But then lead by her brother everyone started saying she should sing. She was actually very shy and quiet.

Oh my...this brought up so many memories! My Mom loved the Carpenters and we would listen to the albums often. They were the first artists to layer the harmonies in the studio. The technology was not great at that time, so they would have to record each individual part - something that we can do on our smart phones/tablets in minutes took days. I remember when she passed away, the impact it made on my Mom and so many other people. She died of complications from anorexia nervosa, and before her death, eating disorders/body dysmorphia was not discussed. At all. Her tragic death sparked public discussions in all media, in private homes, in schools - you name it. I was around 11/12 when she died, and I remember all of the books and after school movies/talk shows that were suddenly about eating disorders. Her voice was one in a million and one that belongs to the soundtrack of my childhood, and her death started a conversation that had ultimately saved millions of young men and women who suffer from eating disorders because of the conversations it triggered and treatment programs that were developed. Thank you for posting. ❤️

Karen will never be replaced. She was and is still the greatest singer on the planet. But it was also her brother Richards arrangements, he was also a genius..

In one of the most brutal industries in the US. She literally tried to disappear. RIP, Karen.
