In Mumbai a 2 BHK in Goregaon costs 1.8-2.2 crs. The average age of buying a home is early to mid 30s. In any housing complexes this can be observed. Most people are paying almost 80k-1L EMI. They will have to pay their Bonuses for next 10-15 yrs for prepayment. Then expenses of kids and maintenance and car and education and going out and healthcare. By the age of 45 -48 is when an average person gets debt free. This is truth of people who are working nearby me who are in PwC, E&Y, Banks and Financial institutions. Even a VP level person who gets 5 lakh take home can at best buy a 3 bhk for 3.5 -5 crs in Mumbai. No matter how much salary you get for a salaried person it is nothing great in Mumbai. So if someone has a parental home or home bought 15 yrs ago then consider yourself lucky.

A hard pill to swallow but mba grads don't prefer sales role with direct topline responsibility. While at the start of your career you can overshadow and number crunch all you want with a desk job, you should start to move into a role which has P&L responsibility. Longterm if you want to survive corporate it is crucial to go for a role with more responsibilities. It's a no brainer that no company will pay a 45 year old to do quintessential desk jobs like number crunching on excel. They would rather prefer to hire a smart college grad who will do it at half the cost !
@theiimguy

Its opposite in IT companies.I think you work in Marketing / sales types of roles.One should be highly technical if you plan to survive in a technology /IT industry in a technical domain..Continuous technical skill upgrade (cloud,azure,ai, data science,cyber security,python,React JS,Angular JS) is a must, MBA is of very little use, unless it is related to sales and marketing types.Managers in IT are easily replacable in comparison to say Architect.Many times Managers salary will be less than the Architect reporting to him.Dont misguide the young people.

If you want to survive in IT Technical positions, than you need to constantly upgrade skill sets in those areas where demand exists . Today skillsets are in demand in Artificial Intelligence and Data analytics. As you age beyond 35-40, it becomes difficult to upgrade such technical skills. If you are unable to upgrade technical skills, then it is better to go for managerial positions.

Thank you sir for this very relevant content... I have a query. My gut feeling is with AI, the managerial roles might start becoming redundant as people management could be made easier with AI tools in near future. If expertise is not made in particular domain and role, career growth might get tougher. I might be totally wrong as well about this, but what are your views on this point? Looking forward for your answer

This is a flawed assumption AI is just an enabler to boost productivity and in its current shape it will take years to match the level of human intelligence Yes you have to upskill but thinking that strategic jobs will be taken over by AI is bit of a hyperbole

Bhaiya I know you've emphasized in your video's several times to prioritize the CAT over academics, and I understand. However, I have a question. I'm considering filling out the application form for the XAT exam, but I'm uncertain about my academic qualifications. My profile is 10th - 40%, 12th - 60%, and graduation - 60%. I'm a non-engineer from the OBC category, and fresher. My question is, can I secure admission to XLRI or FMS with a 99%ile score? If possible could tell me which colleges should i consider?

wow this is so insane to just make a reasonable living in today's modern world. India has a serious problem with NOT ENOUGH JOBS for its youth! the govt. doesn't care at all, and youth is competing with experienced older workers who prefer stable jobs instead of job hopping so employers would less likely take a young kid who will jump ship soon. the ministry of employment or whoever the secretary and its dept. are simply do not care about this serious problem.

Bhai kuch bhi bolo, maximum case es me Govt job hi best hai. Dekh lia corporate jobs...Even agar sirf ar sirf paise ki bhi bat karein to bhi corporate me 5-10% top level ke logon ko chorke bakion ki salary+ Perks govt walon se kam hi hai . Aur quality of life, work life balance , Leaves etc me bhi govt jobs hi win karti hai. So, Professional degree loo aur uske baad corporate bhi join karo, but uske sath sath UPSC, stae PCS, RBI Grade B, LIC etc etc ensab ki taiari karo wahi best hai.

Can you please tell what are suitable options to do MBA either in online and distance mode for a 10 years of IT professional? I mean to say the name of the institution and the MBA stream. It would be helpful for me, and also by doing such is it possible to switch domain,from IT to finance or HR?
@ashishmehra5143
@ashishmehra5143 11 ай бұрын
I totally get why you are looking to do the MBA, but frankly doing the distance MBA will not add value to your resume. In fact, doing a full-time MBA from a mediocre college will not add any value either. If you really want to shine, focus on a full-time premium MBA. Also, it is possible to change the domain, but a good offer will be a possibility when you are picked up during the campus placement.

Sir I am 28 and just started my career in IT. Right now I am working on a project that uses proprietary software that is not used in other companies so I feel that working on this software will not be useful for me in future. I want to shift to a different company now after finishing my bond period but I am not sure how I can get my preferred tech stack and how risky would be to do such a shift at my age. As I am also looking to get settled. As mentioned in the video I did not get time to experiment till 27 years. Please suggest
