The battlerap audience and battlers are ignorant to business concepts, economics, and margins. You’re not battling for free, the payment is being on my platform and generating content for yourself. Battlerap was a balloon for a while and now it burst. Folks keep comparing it to professional sports, professional sports make money from sponsorships and tv deals etc.. people just buying a ticket attend the game and a soda. Just keep the lights on. The fact the top 1% of battlers don’t just throw their own events tell the tale. They don’t want to assume the risk, they much rather just take a check. Honestly the best thing battlerap can do for Remy is serve as a way to hedge against taxes.

From yall comments it’s clear to me none of yall ever owned a business or are entrepreneurs. In no type of business should you not be able to make a return on your investment. How is a league supposed to survive if battle rappers charging super crazy numbers. It just makes no sense to me. 1 battlers charging 100k, his opponent charging close to 100k. The rest of the card charging $20-$30k per battler. How in the hell are you supposed to make any type of profit. Not even including flights, hotel, security, the venue, etc.

Now if they are asking for ridiculous money that's different. But if the cameraman gets paid, the battler should get paid at least the same

Look at how Shannon Sharp has been making money off content. ARP can box up full circle battles and play them on let’s say. Netflix or Amazon prime. Due to the production. problem is the audience isn’t there for battle rap. I say this as a battle rap viewer. Let’s consider the world outside of battle rap. Like big movies, big TV shows, boxing mega matches, etc. Even free battle rap events wouldn’t be a big deal by those standards. Pay per view events are even less of a big deal by those standards. So HUGE paydays aren’t coming from PPV. How about Tickets: Easy and Gotti was the biggest event featuring two of the culture’s biggest names during one of the culture’s biggest scandals of the era. Huge battle. It was held in a small room. I don’t think it even sold out that small room. KZbin: ARP can make a few Eminem Kendrick Drake reaction blogs from his couch to make up for 1 full circle battle in terms of views with two solid known battle rappers. So the flights accommodations and all that wouldn’t be worth the hassle without factoring in demonetization of the content. So the truth is there isn’t that much money coming in to warrant big paydays even if we all wish the battlers got paid really well to do this. And that’s why there’s less battles today.
