It did so well for a drag setup. Considering there is a very heavy weight plate, the suspension and alignment are completely different for this kind of racing and the car was running sensible width front tires(wider fronts will aid turn in, reduce understeer), it was running with the fastest cars. A bit of setup change and the car would definitely be capable of winning all out.

Would love to see the hatch do more track stuff like this. A nice set of coilovers and some other suspension bits and it could be a beast at spectator drags. Maybe get some with adjustable bound/rebound so you can easily change between a drag setup and a circuit setup.
@goosenotmaverick11562 жыл бұрын
This, this is what they need to do. I'd watch the hell outta that. I'd love to see the Boiz doing something that requires more turning with the hatch. With that power, AWD, you're right, a few bits to line it out for turning too, it would probably just dominate at stuff like spectator drags and autocross/track events.

False - electric cars are here, they should be included. Considering a race-spec tesla that has been up pikes peak (and set some records) nearly got beat by two corvettes with probably half the torque I think it is just one of those things in racing where people have to figure out how to beat them. The 911 turbos would have been faster if they had a bit more power. The Teslas strength is that 1000+hp and torque. Their cornering speed isn't near as impressive as the launches. If there was a "stock" Plaid there it would have gotten munched by the two "road racey" vettes, the porsches, and the Civic, Evo, and DSMs would have probably held up reasonable against it.
@Jake_Hamlin2 жыл бұрын
Honestly it could be two classes without going down a rabbit hole, split it on retail price, over 100k and under 100k. Cleet doing what he did kinda goes against the spirit of the race. Pretty much just bought his way into being competitive, already has massive home advantage by practicing.

Honestly for what they're doing here, they could probably replace the coilovers with some new ones that are of decent quality, and get an alignment for the circle track, and the tires they got, they would do worlds better. I think the right alignment specs would allow them to go a lot faster with what they've already got.
