I read all the terms for the full refund within 60 days so I should be getting all my money back." She just stayed quiet and then ended up saying that she had not even ever read the terms fully.... lol forget them, not doing business with them again. This was at Suzuki and Yamaha of Dalton btw.

I wonder if maybe that bike was used in a classroom setting, like maybe to train technicians... so it was perhaps taken apart and put back together a billion times but never really ridden... They wouldn't use a brand new bike for that purpose. Someone just had more money than brains trying to mod it. That was almost a 10 grand bike when new, and 3-4 more grand in aftermarket mods. I highly doubt any school is going to spend that money on a project.

Bought an 06 Raven R1, it ran , drove it home 100 miles. Ended up taking it to the dealer for a starter relay, ( it would stall at idle quite often, putting extra strain on the battery, relay ,and starter)went to pick it up, had an unusual whining noise, left it there, said do what you need. Had metal chips in the oil, had it rebuilt as needed . Shortly after getting it back , starter went out. Replaced that myself, what a pain. Then , a couple weeks later, jumped on it hard at highway speeds, clutch went bye bye, had to nurse it home, about 12 miles, about 3000 rpm, 45 mph, blinker on, riding down the shoulder. Ordered a new high performance clutch, put that in. Was a lot easier than the starter. You never know with used bikes ,or cars, I was a Mercedes tech for seven years, sometimes you need time , and digging deeper when buying used, but that is usually impossible, gotta be ready to spend some after the purchase. Pretty sure the guy knew something was wrong, hence, the reason he sold it, but , oh well.

But in the long run people SEE the way he treats his customers and this pays off in the long run because people trust him. Who else clears their plans for the whole night just because a person is riding their bike they just bought on a LONG ride home? HE DOES, he clears his night out just in case the rider needs assistance and he can come out to help them..

That bike had been cannibalized for parts at one time at a Honda dealer to solve issues with some of their clients bikes. Then the bike was sold as is at a very discounted price with most of the uninstalled parts - possibly the dealer was going out of business. Then someone ( not a Honda mechanic ) installed a bag of parts that were with the bike and the problems with the starter became evident as soon as some tried to start it, so it was auctioned to cut their loses. Then you got it.

i was gonna send a comment telling you to slow down on your diagnosis and actions to get a bike running. i was an auto mechanic for fifteen years and ive made every mistake in the book and most every time the problem is in the basics. check spark, fuel pressure, compression. not once has it ever been bad gas and plugs. im sure that it can and does happen, but its usually not the problem. Then i saw the way you treat your customers and saw that you are a class act and deserve top ratings in customer service. ive worked in shops and all of them, all, would find a way to charge the customer . some how they would dodge responsibility and figure out a way not to lose money. so you are a good guy and i hate to see you lose money. get the tools to check the basics before you spend any money and your life will be much more stress free.

Now THATS customer service!I bought a new Honda S90 in 1967 that was jinked. The first day I owned it the battery went dead. The shop found that the wireing harness was not plugged in from the factory. Two days later it quit running right outside of the shop where I bought it. The mechanics could not believe I had a second problem with a new bike. The choke butterfly came loose and fell into the intake valve. A valve and carb job ensued. Then I went to register it with the state and the title was bad because back then the frame and engine number had to be within 3 digits. Mine was 98 digits off. Oh well it that mess was corrected and that little scooter is still running. (100%) factory original) I'm 70 yrs. old now and still ride it once and awhile .
