Truly a masterpice-album. Really underrated, both in the metal/musicworld in general and in the Haunted catalouge. Its as they try to point out in doc about the recordings: its really natural and organic sounding, yet very heavy and dark.

It relates to the story of the album, which follows an unnamed character in a psychiatric hospital. Each song is a kind of «personification» of state of being of the character. The slower songs often show the resignation of the character while the heavier ones represent his anger and fury. The character is often described as almost «crazy» in the booklet of the album, where there are for each song a description of the state of being by the doctors. This must be what the video represent

Is that really true? I never had the booklet of the album, but I always loved this album to death. I think it is in the overall top50 best albums ever written and recorded. The lyrics are just from another dimension. But I never though the album is an actual concept album.

I remember these guys opening for Static-X during the snocore tour in 09' and I got to meet them, burn halo, and all of Static-X and got posters signed and my tickets. Absolutely amazing night. I just found the massive poster with everyone's signature on it today in storage 😊

Intelligent music rarely, if ever, fits into such a narrow classification. I've never understood, literally, how someone could like one thing and not another simply because it's "different" (and usually by a very, VERY small margin) than what they listen to, usually only because it's "cool" in their little clique and not because they've gathered some special appreciation for it through thoughtful consideration or genuine interest.
