Just saw The Used at When We Were Young 2024. He kept throwing shade at MCR. He said, "We've been a band 25 years. We never broke up. We never took a break. " As if we don't know, that's there's onky 2 original members left in The Used. They also went past their set time, got mad when they got cut off, and Bret threw the microphone in the crowd like a baby.

People have tried to fit teenagers into the story as basically the patient reflecting back as a teen realizing he and his generation were groomed into being sick individuals
@benthadragonАй бұрын
I actually do think Teenagers works in the concept as a glimpse into The Patient's past, although I do agree it's placement chronologically and sonically is strange unless you're someone who views TBP as a non-linear story

On your point about the timelessness of the art of TBP: A lot of the aesthetic approach to TBP and other works Gerard would do with that artist like Umbrella academy remind a lot of that “timeless” approach that went into the making of Batman: The Animated Series.

53:46 Jeez. With both of those Manson moments, I was like "Damn, not a good look, Brian." I'm still basically a fan of his (mostly listened to older stuff, etc), but both those were kinda shitty. Frank emerged in a way better light than him there for sure. He was being the bigger man, and Manson comes back with that? Come on. And apparently Frank is 5'6", btw. Not even that short. And who tf cares about height anyway?? Jokes are fine, but that came off pretty poorly. Haha. Good video. I bought the CD back when I was like 11, heh.

Hey Greymads, loved the video and the whole serious an I got a question for you? You took the plot very much in track order, but what do you think of some different interpretations with a reshuffled tracklist (mainly the wendigoon one)?
@graymadsАй бұрын
I haven't seen Wendigoon's video so i cant say. But that is an interesting idea, and I guess half the fun of interpreting the story. I take it in the chronological way because that's how it is presented and as far as the album goes it doesn't really give any notion to remix the order of the songs to get a different out come. But with how wishy washy the timeline of events are in the songs I can definitely see how moving them around could create a different or even similar but more cohesive plot.

The Black Parade is one of the best rock albums ever made because it told the story of a cancer patient losing his life to the illness, reminiscing on his younger years before the day he died. The Black Parade remains emotional and a perfect rock opera since Pink Floyd's 1979 album, The Wall imo. Around the same time, Gerard Way, MCR's lead assisted Tetsuya Nomura, and the production team of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children on the ending song exclusive to the Japanese version(with English subs) as the credits roll. It sadly wasn't present in the English dub, but there were so much passion for MCR's influence reaching a beloved JRPG franchise like The Compilation of Final Fantasy VII; if you're asking, yes, Cloud is emo, and Sephiroth as well as Vincent are goth. P.S. Gerard Way and MCR performed on Yo Gabba Gabba of sorts. Jack Black, actor, comedian, and co-founder of comedy-rock group Tenacious D also guest-starred in said Nick Jr. show.
@CharleneOcampo134 күн бұрын
Following the songs linearly is too all over the place for me because of the disservice to Teenagers and it's place in the story LOL. I preferred the non-linear Patient-Parader theory I saw on YT a few years ago where the Patient was an unruly/ungoverned young person and the Parader was a fallen WW1 soldier. It also ties in with the WTTBP MV more cleanly for me where MCR in their military-styled outfits led the parade as they honored the Patient heading to No Man's Land, either to heaven or hell depending on which version of Famous Last Words you're listening to. and LOL THE INFAMOUS G NOTE 😂 I don't think there was anyone who got out of 2006 that would ever think it isn't Welcome to the Black Parade the moment they hear that note 😂

Ah yes, the band for where all my normie friends thought they were being "Emo" for listening to and along with things like Panic At The Disco or whatever and whatnot. I just wish they knew what really was what and not have a false sense of things you know? But it's whatever I guess....

Gatekeeping is stupid
@danteshollowedgroundsАй бұрын
@@Abigspider Uhhh IDK about that one like honestly it all depends when it comes down to it NGL but what I said based off of if you know then you know kind of thing then I stand by what I said still since I know people who are actually like that or just for example when you see some people that don't know what anything dark is especially in a sub genre, they'll just immediately assume that it's "Emo" when we all should know by now that there are more than just "Emo" themes out there but is the most overused mainstream stereotype others are susceptible to... That's all I'm saying really I just wish those who would be willing to learn or know the difference would ask the right questions but if not and they just go on mindlessly and aimlessly saying the wrong things all the time and do not care or want to learn or know the difference then yeah that sucks big time... Also yeah sometimes you could be in the know but not know anything about different sub genres or they're true meanings like how the band Cure isn't actually a "goth" band even though they might have made a few song that were quote on quote goth like mcr did or whatever but still we just gotta know the difference simply... This was a lot of rambling for a explanation probably but when are we not rambling right??? Anyways yeah sometimes people can probably gatekeep things from you and not know anything at all while still trying to want to know or be informed of the right thing which sucks and can be annoying I know but I still understand why some gatekeep not gonna lie... Things do get ruined as they already have from many different things however I don't think it really matters anymore funny enough so umm yeah maybe gatekeeping to an extent is useless and meaningless probably... 🤷♀️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ Those who know what's right and what's wrong will know what to do simply by common sense of the brain and those that don't will continue to do whatever they think is right etc.
