For a great time capsule view of 1950s era SF, check out Vertigo. An Alfred Hitchcock film. He was known to use filming locations rather than studio mock-ups and sets and in that film it is 1950s era SF and what a beautiful place. In color and plot is pretty good as well.

Love you OSW - the 1886 pics of gates with lions certainly shows Mudfloods and trying to clear away in the gate open! 😻 Couple other thoughts: - Except for several fire pics, vanilla skies- this needs more eyes on 😻 -Panama W.F. - Las Vegas can’t even compare to those LIGHTS 😻 - Reflections in water, mirroring, columns, yes! I believe that creates time or astral PORTALS 😻 -Arcs are magnetic horseshoe energy 😻 -In early photo - women with black veils draped from hats and I saw black mask on man - makes me think of Black Plague or in mourning for a huge loss of life!

Awesome photos! Thanks for sharing. I would love to see more San Francisco photos. I grew up on Russian Hill (Taylor & Green) with a huge view of the City and bay. It would've been a front row seat view to the areas destroyed by the 1906 earthquake & fires. I like seeing what was there before and your photo selection with the commentary on location is great! Hope you can share more. Cheers!

I lived in the Bay Area for many years. Walking in the City in the fog is beautiful and a bit scary too. The smell of the ocean permeates the air and things seem more quiet. Thank you for revisiting this VERY old City by the Bay.

I think that it goes without saying that a great many of these magnificent structures are remnants of the civilization that was wiped out by the great deluge. The rest are obviously newer and don’t show the wear and tear of rapid flooding. These have to have been designed by the survivors of the great flood and their progeny. Pre-flood knowledge on design and engineering has been lost sadly. Being that no one has even attempted to recreate these edifices shows that they cannot. Anyone with a functioning brain and a body temperature ranging in the 90’s can see that we live in a dump. What we make in the current era doesn’t stand the test of time. What we make and design is crude and lacks any kind of sophistication.

@@WisdomKeeper11 Straight facts. A good rule of thumb. A fool proof bullshit detector if you will is asking someone to repeat or duplicate something they claim they can do. If they can’t then they are full of crap. Plain and simple.

My sentients exactly. That architecture can not be replicated as no one has the ability. Now are soulless buildings which makes sense as the society of a whole is dead I side.

I grew up in San Francisco and have lived in the bay area my entire 64 years. These pictures are so fascinating. I have always noticed the beautiful architecture of the city, but never thought much of it. Now I am going to be so observant of everything that I come across that looks out of place. I love San Francisco, but now I am too scared to even drive there.

its beyond reason... the state of the place. nothing happens on such a level without an active motivated push. its only getting worse. you dont see in war torn 3rd world developing nations or refugee encampments the things that you see in downtown SF today. however the old world architecture is astonishing... i mean ..The Palace of Fine Arts 😵‍💫

i seen personal photos of SF after the first fire. these pictured showed megalithic block work all over the place. brick blown out onto the roads. u can tell it didn't start out as a fire. a fire doesn't blow brick and stone all over the place.

There are channels crying out about native Americans being driven off their lands and forced to change their lives and despite their alleged drive to research and share truth all of this and the people who would have created this are completely overlooked. These were likely the same people that built Bali and Java and Japan and Korea. It's literally all the same. Yes, there were some thatch roof territories but there were also massive and impressive structures. They were not teepee dwelling loincloth people

I noticed in a film of post quake 1906 SF that one of the contributors of the film had the last name of DeLesandrio. Coincident, I'm sure that is Pelosi's father's surname, her maiden name.

It must be difficult to talk about "dogs" and never say the word dog. That's the trouble with utube, real truth will be deleted. Many people know what happened, but they are not allowed to say it. That says alot....
