I really think you are underselling Doctor + ichor here. A Blaze by itself is often run winning, a half priced blaze that can also be used for healing is really good. Here for example (32:00). You have tricked yourself into believing that blaze is somehow on par with ichor, so you spend 8 mana killing the troll and the 4 mana and a 1 pip sword to kill a wisp. You had enough mana to wipe the floor with that entire lineup if you only stopped wasting it on Blaze and Burst.

Haven't watched through the video yet but sometimes the issue with ichor is just targeting I think it's (ichor chalice) still better overall but blaze allowing you to target whatever on the front row is a big upside

@@cale5345 Sure, but it is less of an issue since Doctor+Ichor just gives you enough damage to kill everyone, so order does not really matter. Order matters when you you need to pick and choose who to kill, not something you need to worry about too much when you have. Voyix also points out "sometimes you waste damage" which also does not matter when damage is practically free. This is not Blaze where you spend 6 mana to kill a wisp with either burst or blaze.

Yeah, the damage/mana efficiency on liquor+ichor is an insane 3.33, compared to blazes "measly" 2.16. And at 3 mana per liquor, you can pretty much just blast through everything.

You don't actually waste damage because iirc ichor deals 1 damage many times, i could be wrong but i remember it not working well with inevitable hp​@@wisnoskij

Is it really underselling if he won every major fight with it? Voyix pointed out the weaknesses of the approach by saying the lack of targeting and requirement of full health on the ichor hero can limit the effectiveness of the combo. The fight at 32:00 was won already so the combo was unnecessary, and in fights where it did matter (like the hand), it was used effectively.

With blaze as a payout, I really feel like that +1 mana tweak would have been pretty decent value. In fact, it doubles wizard's mana output while only increasing the cost of burst by 50%. Understandably, it decreases the value of the boost down the road, but still might have been worth more consideration.

I agree. Mana flux is good when your mana generation sides have less pips than the spells you are casting, does nothing when they are equal, and is bad when the sides have more pips than the spell costs. It does make warlock pretty sad, but with learn.blaze, warlock is already worse. Most t3 reds' mana sides are 2 pips, so burst comes out even.

Voiyx plays for consistency and the +1 mana tweak introduces a lot of variance, I'd bet that's why he skipped so fast.

Speaking of those level 0 items you have, I had a funny run with the Banana Peel and the Bandana. Just adding cantrip to dice for free. Probably not as usable with the curse you chose, though.

Tiny optimization: when you got silk cape, rusted plate becomes good. Gives wizard 12 hp instead of 9. It obviously didn’t matter. You had it on lockdown.

Voyix did explain his reasoning pretty well - it depends on enemy positioning and on the health of your hero. If you whiff on mana gen and you have 1 hp left on the ichor hero, you're not doing damage anymore. Blaze always does full damage and allows you to target.
