A villain that defies the word "villain": he was that only in the beginning. Then went to being an anti-hero, then to a reluctant hero, then to nothing short of a martyr. In my opinion.

I think the reason he says that is because the WOL looks almost exactly like Azem (and its implied Emet has feelings for Azem, or at least is very fond of them), so part of him looks at you and assumes you to still be them, but you're not, which is still really sad :'>
