The Heart of Man Deceitful and Desperately Wicked
We continue our enlightening journey with part 2 of our lesson series titled “We Are Not Mere Men.” This part is called “The Heart of Man Deceitful and Desperately Wicked.”
In our previous lesson, we explored the concept of two kinds of people: the natural man and the spiritual man. We established that the natural man, driven by the senses and human will, is at enmity with God. Today, we delve deeper into this theme by examining the deceitful and desperately wicked nature of the human heart.
The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 17:9 that “the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.” This profound truth highlights the inherent corruption within the natural man. As we study this lesson, we will uncover the stark contrast between the carnal mind and the spiritual mind, and understand why the natural man is considered an enemy of God.
We will also explore the transformative power of the Spirit, which enables us to overcome the limitations of our flesh and walk in the newness of life in Christ. Let us journey together to understand the depths of our human nature and the glorious hope we have in Christ Jesus.
