I was able to visit Yosemite one week before they closed for the corona virus. The park was almost completely empty and the weather could not have been more perfect. It was hands down the most beautiful experience of my life.

Me too. Unfortunately our Xperia 2 seems to be capable of 4k hdr only with KZbin, I've tried with Amazon video, and the results are really bad bad bad, only 1080p and dark images.

Just got an ultrawide HDR monitor today and ran this on my old 1440p monitor next to my new ultrawide HDR 1600p monitor, both set to 1440p. I didn't get it until they started showing mountains and on my old monitor the sun washed everything out, but on my HDR monitor I could make out every detail. Then I realized the white labels weren't even visible on my non-HDR monitor. HDR isn't quite what I thought it was but its awesome.

The difference between watching this on an HDR display vs SDR is gigantic. So many more colors, detail, and clarity in HDR. SDR looks foggy, unrealistic colors, and so much less detail.

I've heard a lot of people say HDR is a fake marketing thing, and also that you need a 1000-nit screen for it to be any good, and that HDR10 sucks. But I just got a 38" 21:9 LG monitor, and it's 300 nits with HDR10, and I had to turn the brightness down to 25% to keep the highlights from blinding me. Maybe it's just because it's late and I don't have many lights on... but black is really black, and this is the first time I've seen something better than my 2011 Panasonic plasma.
