This tune put MJ Cole on the map for me... unforgettable! First heard it in Camden Palace with about 2000 other garageheads. When that first bassline dropped on that sound system, OH. MY. GOSH!!! WIcked tings!

@@Crump1980 Yes he did for loads of people then who played on London Underground Fm. Daryl B, Grey Stainer, Mr Jones and others he 'shadow produced', but most famously all Ramsey and Fen big classics. Eventuality he thought he should put out tunes under his own name! You can hear his signature sound of that time on them so you always can tell when its him!

@@jibsmokestack1 Spot on you know your stuff. If you look at Ramsey and Fen first release which was on V.I.P. (Very Important Plastic) MJ Cole engineered all those tracks and you can definitely hear his signature sounds. Loved L.U.G. FM, we have tons of recordings on our channel from that era of magical music.

UK Garage was and IS a NATIONAL thing. It wasn’t just a ‘London Ting’… so insular and boring to ride on that go-cart… as soon as these tunes came out on dub plate, we were dropping them in Leeds, especially! And also Huddersfield, Bradford, Nottingham, Manchester, Newcastle… that’s why it is called UKG not LG… no such thing as London Garage. It started with disco, then Paradise Garage (which was more mellow than disco), then Chicago house, then two branches broke off into electronica (like techno rave crap) and the other branch went underground. Both House and Garage took off in the UK, especially! Think 1985/6/7… Then Ibiza, rave music… meanwhile, Mr. Fingers was still going strong with things like ‘What About this Love’… and lots of underground clubs and pirate radios up and down the UK were playing with a more mellow sound but highly linked to the house 4/4 beat… which, in turn, naturally led to the 2-step movement but that in itself took about 10-15 years. The north never gets praise in these comments and that’s quite embarrassing for the students of HOUSE. Credit where it’s due.
