Not every team has quality role players. And if your role players fail, how much can you trust them? That star is the common denominator. The ceiling raiser. The difference maker. Miami heat, specifically Jimmy Butler, are 0-2 in the finals. That’s not a good look. It proved that he is a 2nd option star. He needs a 1st scoring option star. They make it to the finals. Congratulations but they don’t have what it takes to win a championship. They need a star.

Its about time the Heat move on from the "scrappy undrafted role player" era and get an actual STAR next to Jimmy Butler. They need a playoff performer that can get them out of the offensive droughts that happened multiple times throughout The Finals, especially when Jimmy was being passive and not shooting the ball. Someone like Damian Lillard would fit that mold in my opinion

Actually Miami did a better job on him than the Lakers (as a team, AD was probably the best individual defender). What you need is a lot of long players who can defend and go into his dribble and recover real real fast. You also have to give him different looks different matchups to make him work. Miami's main problem was that outside of Bam they had no real good defensive big men with Zeller/Love being the backups to him. Miami with another quality backup could give Jokic the most hardship any team can

Hot shooting mattered more than personnel. Those 2 things got Miami there, NOT PERSONNEL. Any team shooting that good while other teams miss open uncontested shots is gonna win more often than not. Man call how it really is. Miami does deserve alot of credit that they made the NBA Finals working with lesser talent than the opposition, but in the same breath, what Miami ran into, they definitely don't have enough of to win against. Denver not only became the 2nd ABA team to win a title, they are poised to be what I can describe as the Spurs 2.0 in terms of what the Spurs did during the 2000s to 2014 and being the next dominant team, or at least contending for at least a few years to come. Denver has everything they need to make multiple runs, and while the salary cap will challenge this small market team, they look poised to make their own history. Well done to Denver and it's management for keeping Mike Malone there through their adversities to winning this post season. And well done to Jokic for showing the world, centers still can dominant the NBA.

1st Congratulations to Denver, 2nd Congratulations to Miami! Joker is writing history! One note as a overall team Miami held down Denver's overall offensive #'s to a level you would think that the series would be 6-7 games either way! The Joker's IQ and craftiness allows him to control the game and that is a problem for others in the future. Smaller players as most will be, are going to have to play defense on him with high IQ and craftiness also cause it will always be a physical mismatch, so if it also an IQ & craftiness huge mismatch then the Joker will always be in control of the game. Check out Denver vs GSW vs Denver last year

Lowry needs to go his contract is wayyy to big. Getting paid 28m this and 29 next season. Duncan had his moments but another player with a huge contract that can be streaky and play no defense he’s the reason they really play zone. Bam is good but he’s small he needs to get a 3pt Shot at least bring the other big out the paint and keep getting better with the dribble pull up he does. Jimmy idk he had a good playoff run but in the finals it wasn’t great for him he did really start playing different after the ankle injury in the knicks series but he also did have a few good games after that injury too.

Just ask the Warriors who were fleeced after their 22' title.
