Frankie is so ungrateful. She spends the whole series fixating over the family she wants, not the family she actually created. Every 'flaw' this family has is a direct reflection of Frankie's own shortcomings. Mike isn't perfect but he's far more accepting of who they really are and isn't always trying to make them something they aren't.
