Think my best not-playing WoW moment was New Years right after the start of BFA. Had been playing a few months, fresh out of uni, couldn't find work and I went back to my home country to hunker down while I looked for work. Played WoW in my downtime cos I had nothing else to do. Kinda bummed cos I graduated but I'd lost contact with a long-term friend (unrecoverable) and split with a long term gf (these events were unrelated). So I was beyond deflated, and I made a mythic party some time in early Dec that year and found a couple people who were fun to chat and play with. Pocket healer and tank too so it was super sweet. We ended up chatting so much in parties sn entire guild formed around as more people just wanted to be in our groups. A few of us had nothing to do that NYE. I was just home from another country and nobody to talk to and nowhere to go. So we agreed we'd get some booze IRL and sit in Org to see the New Year in on server time. Nothing spectacular happened. We sat on the roof of Org drinking and chatting on Discord. Must have been there 3-4 hours. Just remember having a good laugh at a New Year in Orgrimmar.

RP servers are great ^^ if you want to RP, this is the place where you are least likely to get laughed at for it, cause there is always someone weirder XD if you don't want to RP, you still get to enjoy the random events players come up with and random people RPing by themselves, filling the world with life, it's like having a bunch of extra dynamic NPCs generally I noticed that people just seem friendlier and more receptive to talking? I remember when I used to be on other servers, that even attempting to talk in pug groups was usually met with silence...but on RP servers it's not uncommon that people just chat with each other, it feels much more social without being forced social.

I started playing wow in wotlk 2009, and I was a kid back then maybe 12 y/o so I really did not care about hitting max level and doing endgame content. I did level slowly but mostly I focused on rp and just having fun interactions with people so in my first year of playing I only made it to about level 45 or so. When cataclysm eventually came out I started playing the game the intended way with irl friends and never really looked back. Yet I really miss that first year playing wow. You are totally right that they are the fondest memories for me in wow.

I remember joining some guild of people and we almost only did random weird events, the group was amazing fun and we did tons of odd things. They planned things like jumping over some gap somewhere, where if you failed to cross you'd fall to your demise or running into the opposing factions land and leaving your bones all over the place. The guild sadly disbanded eventually due to leaders breaking up

Look, I agree that WoW is an open experience to enjoy how you want. We are absolutely not skipping over the fact you've never played Halo though. That is down right literally UNFORGIVABLE. Please play through them. They are one of the only games globally that actually can stand toe to toe with WoW on how much it affected society. WoW was a cultural experience and so was Halo, not many other game series can ever say that.

Watching this video and him talking about how alliance is great for RP reminded me I have an ex girlfriend that got me into playing wow for the first time and she had played since warlords and never RPed, didn’t pay attention to any story or lore, rushed me to leveling and kinda killed it for me for a while, I’m glad a year or so after we broke up my other friend got me into RPing and I actually got to spend time enjoying the lore and world of the game, don’t play anymore but I’ve been getting the itch watching these types of videos

One thing I feel that blizzard could do to make world PvP really fun again would be to make the faction bosses be closer to real raid bosses again, and update the For the Horde/Alliance achievement, maybe even make them drop conquest/gear/something else to make it worth it for people too! (Watching the part at 29:23) I know the factions are working together now, but I think PvP'ers still hold that horde vs alliance mentality, if you're running around with warmode on red = dead.

This is some surprisingly good content but not unsurprising of am MMO series but for WoW yea. Since original Vanilla-Cata we had the movie series of action PvP MMOs like Hansol, BEBEP, and Vurtne with players using the Machinimas but now were getting the engaging MMO series on the current era which is also nice to see a comeback to. Can't wait to see how it continues on.

As a person who plays tanks a lot (more than I do DPS and Healers)... it would be helpful to ask first before pulling extra mobs. If you know what you're doing (ie pulling them to the tank/me or like hunter/rogue MD/ToT so I gain agro) then I welcome the help, as long as the healer is ok with it. As a tank I consider myself the "Leader", but my Healer is always the "Boss". At lower levels (leveling), I care less, as long as you're not wiping us. I say asking first is proper edicate because there may be times your tank and/or healer might be new to the class and are still learning. Just be patient with them, or ask.

Its no surprise tanks get mad, im surprised you dont get that. Problem is the tanks are bad, but its every tanks right to pull the way they can handle its nothing more annoying than when someone else tries to take control. I don't have this problem as tank because im not a bad tank so i can push party as hard as it can handle, but if tank is bad you ask first before trying to take over his role or else its a huge chance of them raging. It's a respect thing. If you ever tried a siuation where you have trouble to keep agro because youre underleveled or the game is not balanced you will know how infuriating it is if ppl pull extra shit that its impossible for you to grab control over.

Naww, PvP died with the Arena, so TBC. The game is better rock/paper/scissor and world PvP or battlegrounds. Balancing the game around 1v1 is particularly bad, cos that means you can't rock/paper/scissors, and that means that all classes need access to all the tools (which is what has happened to PvP). People just don't die anymore. Your stuns don't stick anymore. Your CC is a filler in the rotation just to burn enemy anti-CC. If you're not doing all your damage in 0.003s then your damage doesn't stick anymore. Fights a long slog of which healer will fuck up. On BGs with multiple healers it feels like you're just attacking a brick wall. And on the flip side of this, has it ever actually been balanced? Cos I can't recall one time in WoW's history when PvP was balanced. Particularly with the rise of the Arena, a lot of people might stick to their mains but for the most part it's the same as any other competitive game where you have to play the meta pick if you wanna take it seriously. Which will be whatever is busted at that time. Warlocks in BFA. Rogues in SL. PvP stopped being fun when people took "1v1 me, bro" too seriously.

Xaryu ... you’re trying to get the tank to play as you would expect without any conversation ... they’re a lot of tanks who aren’t really experienced tanks. I just roll with whatever they are doing, even if it means I don’t get to complete a personal task/quest/goal. Just say you were trying to help and you know that the healer and dps will support him, or the tank might even be looking for something associated with a quest (it happens).
