Harbs was not only a Cube in the pros, he was a Bolt! And a damn good one. I think he's still wearing a 4 jersey under his hoodie. As a 47 year bolthead, I dont remember being this psyched outside of when we knocked off Pittsburg in the 94 playoffs. Forget about how many wins and making the playoffs, the Bolts are gonna be fun again. BRING IT ON!

Herbert has had to play in a desert with no back up. Like last year Mahomes had a pretty mediocre offense even with Reid but the defense bailed them out. Herbert has never had solid couching + no running game, injury prone top WRs... and anemic playcalling. He's had to be a 1 man show.

Never understood the need to skip important parts when analyzing a player. Herberts stats are good enough, they were top tier when not injured. Thats with bad coaches as you point out. But also with a bottom League defense. Bottom of the league run game. Theres more things that people just leave out when dissing Herbert because of his win record. Come on man

Been a Bolts fan since 1974 when my brother took me to a game. When my ship was in SD, I'd always try and see a Chargers or Padres game. Got to go to the '94 AFC championship when we beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Loved Phillip Rivers. Some thick, but mostly thin years. Today, we have the absolute best mind in a head coach and a lights-out QB. I loved it when Harbaugh announced during his presser, that we would win multiple SBs. I can't wait for Sunday!
@jctsliceАй бұрын
It's not really a stats thing imo. Herbert has elite stats. The fact that Herbert has rarely been in the playoffs makes people feel like Herbert is just a stats player who isn't a winning caliber player. Particularly with Dak fans I'm noticing, they scoff at Herbert being looked at as better because of what I said earlier about the playoff thing. I don't totally buy that & I think we need to wait to see what Herbert does with Harbaugh. I think they'll ball out, Julian. This team will not let the Chiefs just walk all over them. Not anymore. The Chiefs need this too. They need better competition to make a potential GOAT case look even better/more feasible

Your mic sounds amazing. Really professional sound. I have been thinking about the coaching you spoke on since camps started. Why is coaching so unacknowledged other than the clear few best. Marked only by postseason success. Inconsistent play from players, regression after coaching changes and even the actual acquisition of better NFL players can be attributed to coaching. Better coaching can make players already with an org better, but then also allure better plays as well. Who do you want to sign with, Staley or Andy Reid? Coaching is massive, throw in some talent and you have what the Chiefs are right now. Great video.

As a lifelong Chargers fan, I'm cautiously optimistic. I agree with your take on Herbert and Harbaugh, however the Chargers has always failed to put all the pieces together. They've had great squads in the past. Even going back to the Air Coryell days. Yeah electrifying offense, no defense. I think Rivers was a much better QB than most give him credit for but he wasn't mobile and they never bothered to build a O-line to protect him. So is this a new era where they are committed? Hope so. I'd like to see a championship in my lifetime.

I think Harbaugh will turn the Chargers around. Will it be this season? I'm not sure, the Charger defense played like garbage last season, that could be what holds them back. If he can fix that in one season, they will be in the playoff picture. The other question mark is the receiver room. If you remember last season, until Herbert went down injured, they were in the hunt.
@rluellamАй бұрын
I agree that Herbert is a great QB. I think Harbaugh is a good coach I'm not sure the two together are a good blend. I think once again Herbert will be held back by coaching. Look at J.J. Mcarthy.
@Sea_StallionАй бұрын
Harbaugh brings culture which is super important to successful teams and the Chargers had none of it. Michigan was built to be a boa constrictor so Mcarthy didn’t have to be elite to win games. Herbert may not have the same numbers as he once did but he’s also not going to be asked to play hero ball

Uh....No. Kap in 6 seasons compared to Herb in 4 has 5k less yds, 40+ less tds, lower %'s in basically everything, 4 less comebacks, and 7 less game winning drives. Add Herbo's OROY award and pro bowl (which Kap has neither) and he's proven much more in this league in his 4 years with bad coaching and horrible defenses than Kap did his entire career. The only argument you can make is that SF was more successful but if you're being honest with yourself, you know that's not all on the qb. Lamar, Hurts, and Dak all have 2 total playoff wins so by that logic Taysom Hill is a more proven qb than all 3!
