Nah leauge is somehow worse, Overwatch 2 even without lootboxes is way better. Because every single season when theres a battle pass you can get enough coins and then buy probably like 70% of the available skins with those coins including legendaries for any hero u want. Imagine if leauge did that where every new battle pass you can get a special currency used only for buying skins and you can buy legendary skin every season for free with it. Also they give out 250 of the premium currency for free that you can use to buy the battle pass. So playing overwatch for 4 battle passes can give you enough of that currency to get a free pass every 4 passes. Thats basically what overwatch has, so yeah leauge is somehow way worse that OW2, like the worst reviewed game on steam is 10 times better and less greedier than leauge now. Its insane.

This season feels so greedy and disorganized. They upturn every system, removing mastery, level up capsules and level up mythic essence, all under the pretense of moving rewards to the battle pass, only to essentially nerf the battle pass compared to how it was like last year. They didn't move anything to the battle pass, they just removed all the rewards. I am teetering on uninstalling League at this point. There are like two champions I like the fantasy of and would like to main, but it isn't that tempting to get obliterated by bad match making, toxic team mates, languishing champion states, and auto fill, only to be greeted by an obnoxious battlepass yellow dot reminding me I've earned absolutely jack for my suffering learning.

I would like to emphasize the fact that Ranked Rewards have been removed aside from the Victorious skin. There was Hextech Chests, Emotes, Keys, and Masterwork Chests. All gone. Only the Victorious skin exists now.

Oh I forgot about the ranked rewards aside from Victorious skin (which is often iffy victorious aatrox was absolute garbage while Sejuani was great). Yeah, now I get less reward for my other funny number going up. Now league is just funny number going up, funny mastery, funny level, funny rank. Yes the rewards were shit, but they were given ALONGSIDE the game itself, which made coming back to the game or playing some ranked feel a bit more valuable. I was incentivized to try way harder if a hextech chest mastery unlock was near. I got BE for essence emporium for the skins I bought. I got BE for the random icons from each region, etc.

Boycotting = not spending money. They couldn't care less if you play or not, aside from the fact that the longer you are online, the more likely you are to end up spending money. But eitherway, this doesn't make me want to play anymore and compounds other issues I had with the game, for example ranked being completely rigged. People arent even noticing the battle pass gives you exactly 1050 orange essence which is enough for ONE SKIN to be upgraded to permanent (you can ALMOST get two if theyre cheaper at 675 OE each). If you wanted to use the ONE repeatable mission at the end that gives you *25 OE* you'd have to finish all five repeatables over *27 times* to earn 675 more orange essence to be able to upgrade ONE more skin. The battle pass gives you technically seven if you buy it with the orbs which will give you skin shards and gives you One shard for free, but if you dont buy the pass, how do you earn ANY orange essence now? Hmm..??? Seriously removing the chests is such bs, it's been hard to make myself bother playing with how mad i am about the chests and battle pass changes

To be fair that is kinda why Hots gets a patch like once every 1,5 years and it is only some 5% buff or nerf. People didnt need to spend real money on the game so Blizzard stopped expanding it. In Hots there is gold for buying heroes tho and you can earn it from daily quests. In LoL people need Hextech Chests to get champion fragments and essence to craft champions and it is the only f2p way to get skins as far as i am aware

It’s just the fact that there’s NO progression. No chests for my keys that I get naturally. Less rewards in a pass. Mastery system goes infinitely, yet I don’t get anything anymore so it’s just a number unlike before where it was just a number but capped out at 7 (like Lord in Marvel Rivals), so it felt like “yeah, this guy probably knows his champ”. I get less BE for new champs or BE emporium which was a cool way to spend extra BE The game is fun, but I only played solo if I was getting a reward. It’s fun with friends. My levels no longer give me ANY rewards, so why should they matter? The rewards were pretty shit yes. But it was SOMETHING I had alongside the game to make it feel like, “yes, my time in the game is being semi valued as I enjoy the game on its own.”

I'll be honest, I have 28 keys at the moment that I cannot spend for free and it is frustrating. What feels more frustrating is the fact that you can still earn key fragments for honors and craft key that is practically useless. Even the hextech chests are not that good because the chances for stuff like icons, wards and champions shards were pretty high and a lot of the time I opened some I got these items which would be even more frustrating if I paid for the chest and got a champion that I most likely own and I'd get BE ... I do not understand why Riot thought that removing such mechanic that has been in the game for years would be a good move other than greed. They could've just left them in milestones and add battle pass xp as third reward for leveling the mastery up. Edit: Also, why the fuck would you remove champion capsules for leveling up ? I am lvl 206 now and the capsules stopped when I was 199 so I even missed the mythic essence that should come out of it and I still do not have all the champs and now I am forced to buy them in the shop for full BE price.

That being said, the Game wasn't the worldwide e-sports phenomenon it is today, tencent acquired riot in 2011, at that time, the worlds final had a live audience of around 80 people and it was broadcast straight from phreak's garage. Obviously it's hard to place blame on any particular actor, whether it be tencent or riot, but the fact of the matter is that the executive decisions made at riot have been increasingly leaning towards pandering to the eastern market, and while it could just be riot taking advantage of their biggest market, there's a definite possibility that tencent had some hand in it. Higher-ups with an undue amount of oversight on projects they know little to nothing about is a tale as old as time, it's how we get things like the hobbit trilogy

I played genuienly so much and I STILL have not reached the 1350 (OR LOWER.) skin shard, yeah BE "error" is fixed pretty faaast BUT OH when it's something that benefits them straight up (Which doesn't because no sane F2P will pay just because they don't have any more free rewards), they won't EVEN ADRESS IT, it's INSANE, this is just no screw up man. Edit: Most of the casual players aren't even gonna get the free 1350 (or LOWER!!!!) shard because of the insane amount of time you need to even get it.

On a battlepass related note I've noticed as a TFT player I no longer get league battlepass xp for games and only get tft pass xp. I used to be able to max the league pass with just playing tft games so I would grab a pass once in a while. no reason to do that anymore I guess.

So hear me out, instead of removing all the systems that were granting loot why not keep them AND add the battle pass as is. That would’ve made the basically no blue essence from the pass a little easier to stomach but fr who in their right mind ever played the game saw how much the champs cost and went ah yes 50 blue essence for a battle pass level makes sense.

btw old passes were also easy to get for tft players cuz we were able to get a lot of xp by just playing tft, now its pretty much impossible to do any progress if u mainly play tft but also wanna get league stuff
