Looked up funnel web spiders on the Australian Museum website. Egads! Not something I want to meet up-close-and-personal! So very happy you were not bitten. Definitely wear gloves! Hoping tomorrow is an uneventful day…..

Most spiders (99.99%) are fine ... leave them to their business. Even big huntsmans. They won't hurt. Even red-backs are OK ... but sadly a bite from them can kill a guinea.

YIKES. As much as I love grass picking I am terrified of spider and I know it's always a risk I take, but spiders can get indoor and everywhere. You're braver than me to put him in a jar. I would have stomped on it. Since I'm terrified of them. I'm glad you didn't get bit.🐹🐹

@@amandaham7571 I HATE spiders and I know Australia has HUGE one's. I'm already scared of the spiders we get here in Florida. I have saved a lot of animals lives, but I will kill a spider if it's in my house. I'm Not afraid of all insects, but terribly afraid of arachnids.

Huntsman spiders are INCAPABLE of hurting you (besides giving you the creeps). They do good things like eat cockroaches. If you find one in the house: (a) leave it be ... eating moths and other destructive invaders; (b) gently catch it, take it outside, and let it go ... unharmed. You will do the environment and local ecosystem a BIG favour.

Oh no! I'm so glad you are safe, it was so close, it's terrifying! 😰 I obviously love spiders, but these guys are definitely ones I don't want to have a close meeting with, as beautiful as they are!
