CP3 is a way better fit than other small point guards like Trae Young. 1.) cause CP3 is not only willing to but excels at making younger players better 2.) he isn’t Trae Young

look of course cp3 is not that defender anymore, but he still has great impact on defense just being smart. i’m pretty sure he had a decent amount of steals per game on the warriors and he’s the kind of defender that will direct the offensive player to the help defense. this time he has wemby protecting the rim and other great defenders around. i’m excited to see this team under pop, guess they could add a 3 and d player (like moody) to increase their potential

@@HKim0072 There's a good chance CP3 will get himself into really good shape for this season because he understands better than anyone what a golden opportunity he has in turning Wemby into the unanimous MVP as the Spurs run the table. CP will also understand that Castle can give him all the rest he needs, so that CP doesn't feel the need to hold anything back. Castle can have the assignment of turning on the afterburners on defense when he subs for CP.

Idk about CP3 being able to stay on the court, but nonetheless this is good for the Spurs simply because having him around would provide veteran leadership and guidance for the guards. Excellent move, but I don't think this takes them over the top just yet. Reality is that they need somebody better than 39 year old CP3, so their hunt for a high IQ pass-first pg who can also space the floor is still on-going. Spurs are still missing a pf who can guard 1-4 like AG. Once they get that, then the Spurs can be looked at as contenders.

This is super key. It has been noted often, that CP3 with your young players or bench is a leader and mentor. He is a floor general and coach. He was a player union president, great in press, extremely competitive. What were the Spurs missing last year? Vets. Now you have one of the quintessential ones on the floor with your VERY young team and on the bench. I think for CP3...in the latter area of his career, he is now at a premier organization. He saw firsthand Steve Kerr who benefitted it. He didn't get a ring as a player but I'm willing to bet if Chris heads into coaching, he WILL get a ring. Being part of the Spurs family as a coach, almost guarantees you a future coaching job. Great move on everyone's part.

CP3 will be the Spurs' coach inside the court... even if they don't get into playoffs or play in, the experience he'll bring is surely a significant part of their young team's build-up. Pop should start adopting a system similar to Phil J's triangle offence, Wemby will be perfect for that and CP3 is a right guy to facilitate the training while on play.
@kelleyeidem667
@kelleyeidem667 28 күн бұрын

That was a truly impressive highlight reel. If Chris Paul can make those kinds of spectacular passes to the Dub scrubs last year, OMG it's gonna be lights out for Wemby, Vassel and Sochan who are all quite young and improving. If they can add one tall shut down free agent defender, they could go deep into the playoffs. CP, Tre and Castle could become platoon sprinters. Keep putting in new faces in throughout the game so that the defenders are unable to settle in or catch their breath.

This move wasn't to be competitive. It was to help obtain a veteran who could help develop the young guys and help them grow from a current player who knows the game best. A coach is one thing....but someone who is on the court with you helping you out and helping you learn the game and develop a better on court IQ so that way you can tidy up your game and make it more professional. That's honestly exactly what they need to help their young guys grow, which was the point of this acquisition imo. If they are competitive, that's a plus ....but I promise you that was not the point of the move lol.

Imagine a season line of 2pts, 13 ast, 2 tov. That would be worth double what the Spurs are paying him! And minimal wear-and-tear on his body. The last comment in the video was so, so wrong! 🤣

Tre and Vic played great together, but pop REFUSED to leave Tre on the court. They could've grown together, now Vic is gonna have to keep starting over with guys as they "out age" him

I just wish the Spurs Organization see this window not for wemby but for the guards. Where instead of using CP3 give Wemby highlight passes but use CP3 as a mentor for all their young guards and have them absorb as much skills from him. This might actually turn out good for the long term.

Why are you calling him "Vic"? I find it a bit disorienting since his de-facto nickname is Wemby. Kept thinking it was regarding another player on the team the whole video... :(

I agree its a great move. But I'm not sure Pop wants to make the playoffs. I think he'd be happier with another lottery pick 😂 CP3 could be on limited minutes 😅

CP3 still has some good years in him. He still knows when to pass and where to pass, and when to shoot. CP3 will unlock Wemby and people might tag him as washed, but he is still effective and if he can focus on facilitating, he might even preserve his knees. The spurs are scary and adding a consistent 3 and D player, they will be a sure contender.

CP3 wife at 3 a.m.: "Why are you up staring at your laptop with game film of Wemby right now? U look very aroused, by the way".

If CP3 can just stay somewhat healthy he will average double digit assists easily. Wemby might shoot 60% this next season.

10 dunks a game could be possible if he got Luka Doncic. But with chris paul? I dont know man its a bit of a stretch he too small to pass the ball.. chris paul can give 3 dunks a game to wemby 5 at most but 10 is overrated only luka can do that.

Cp3 to the spurs with wemby hopefully can play 35+ minutes each game will probably make spurs a strong contender for playoffs top seed

I really would have wanted the Spurs to draft Edey at 8. Imagine CP3 with Wemby and Edey.

Hes anout to take over for what tony was doing in france. Who do you think helped wembybto be so incredibly versatile. Im so glad we got cp3 in San Antonio instead of trea young. This will be another part of cp3 legacy. Shit i cant wait to see what steph does this year because of cp3.

They need to take a chance on Lonzo Ball! He doesn’t need to score the rock and can still be an elite passer while he gets back into his NBA groove. Hes been out a while….but a “dimer” is a “dimer”.

THIS IS WHAT I WISHED LAST SEASON. IT WAS PAINFUL TO LOOK AT THESE OTHER WANNABE PG'S IN THE SPURS. WEMBY DID'NT GET MUCH TOUCHES BECAUSE HIS TEAMMATES WERE JEALOUS OF HIM. NOW CP3 IS THERE AS WELL AS CASTLE.. IT'S GREAT!!! POINT GOD JOINS THE FUTURE KING MVP💪💪

Great video, but I believe that CP3 won’t be as much in the midrange this season as this can impede Wemby’s realstatete around the rim. He can use more floaters though, as he should be moving from the perimeter more
