Penny Math: There are two possibilities of what "doubling in size" means. Either The Penny doubles its diameter while keeping its proportions the same, or it doubles in volume while keeping its proportions the same. A diameter-doubling penny octuples in volume every day. The difference doesn't matter long-term (destruction of the entire universe), but it matters a lot when you limit The Penny to only double for a month. A diameter-doubling penny will be larger than the Earth after a month, causing the extinction of all life, but a volume-doubling penny (my preferred interpretation) actually lands in a narrow and amazing sweet spot at about 31 days, where it's large enough to be hugely valuable but small enough to be survivable and saleable. This is a *very* narrow window; a few more days and you're destroying multiple cities, a few days fewer and The Penny is worth less than a new car. It's a very interesting time period for The Penny.
