I'm a "non-religious" person and I believe in questioning faith, but I also, strongly believe that being guided by moral laws that have stood the test of time through millennials is good for society. I didn't bother to watch this video because I got the impression that he's just retelling the story of Hellbound, and there's no point since I've seen the series. Edit: Ok, so I decided to see the rest. And in my opinion the Soho group has not done anything explicitly evil yet. However they have not been in power to be a noticeable evil force, so it would be cool if they started a campaign to get revenge on the new truth and arrowhead, thus becoming evil them selves, now that they have exposed the new truth and might be able to take their place.

I love your videos! I’ve been patiently waiting for this one to come out! My first experience with Asian Netflix was Alice in borderland. And I’ve seen ahh the good ones since. And how I sometimes judge whether or not to watch one is where or not you make a video in it,! Keep up the great work!

In this case, you may want to start calling it East Asian cinema or something. Alice in Borderland is Japanese. Still a fantastic adaptation though. I look forward to seeing the rest of the manga get adapted.

@15:10 I can accept the daughter's death being an accident, however the issues with the deaths is the warning beforehand. An Earthquake or Tornado never appeared to me while on the throne about high winds in 4 days. I get the ideas and metaphors it's trying to play with but I think it fell relatively flat. It's ultimately the same tale of people are either Gullible, Evil or Cynics.

Children out of wedlock are more discouraged in Korea due to the importance of bloodline and culture than other countries than the US or England and other western cultures that are more progressive. It is shameful in Korea and women can lose everything, be disowned, and be discriminated against. Yes, it can be ill in religion but in Korea can be viewed as a disgrace. So it is different in Korea than in other places or societies. That scene of the mother is an example of what Korea can be like for children and mothers who had babies out of wedlock or caring mothers that had to give their child up. It can be viewed in a religious sense but in Korea, it is a reality in its culture. I think there can be a cultural barrier when shows and movies from eastern countries get seen worldwide by westerners, but it still is cool for eastern entertainment to be shown in the west like this.

23:44 The New Truth's leaders being called Chairman and especially having the new leader be Chairman Kim Jong-chil and having him look a bit like Kim Jong-il with the glasses, especially the shot that pulls back to his desk with the relief mural in the background and "Chairman Kim Jong-chil", also could be making the point that South Koreans arent just more virtuous or better or immune to the same forces like paranoid repression, cult of personality, panopticism and dictatorship than Koreans in the North but that it could be like North Korea if circumstances changed

9:10 To be fair, the supposed sin wasn't having children out of wedlock, it was that the men were married. Which 100% isnt deserving of punishment this severe, but sleeping with someone who's married to another person is immoral in a much more universal way than just having children out of wedlock would be. I know the New Truth does have a religion-centric conception of what's sinful but I think even more modern or liberal non-religious people would be much less likely to question that (because it hurts someone) as immoral compared to if just extramarital sex (which doesnt hurt anyone) was called sinful

This beings sound like the manifestation of the Idea of Evil of Kentaro Muira, manifestation of human suffering and anger, in a brutal and unjust world, and they are equally cruel to their victims, the Idea of Evil is a very old philological idea, that says that God didn't not create us, but we create God or Gods, to explain why things go wrong in our world, why there is suffering and misery.

Good insights in your analysis, but you are missing one of the biggest messages, and that is a scathing rebuke of socialism / communism. There are numerous references to North Korea and its brutally enforced "righteousness". Even the names of the cult leaders are a play on this. Communism / Socialism is just a form of Capitalism where the open market is taken from the people and made exclusive to the governing powers.
