It's really refreshing to watch this. It is the history of Native Americans that doesn't center around the invasion. It is also great to hear the native languages spoken in the scenes, unlike other documentaries where a British accented man explains Native phrases in a foreign accent. I have watched this 3 times thus far. I wish this was touched on in school. It was completely ignored until the European encounters kicked off.

It's a very very misleading documentary and is cherry picking events unfortunately because the iroquois actually have an absolutely fascinating history they were absolutely ruthless way before the Europeans showed up. Many forget that the human story can sometimes be quiet as mice while other entities have their aeon in the sun. The plains states were for a long time the home and a haunt of the largest reptilian races of the worlds creature history. So not much human input those days I feel. The north and western areas were the target range of meteoric archer entities for a long long time as well, leading me to assume that the humans history there as well had a quiet spell. The east coast became exposed to air in its current form not long ago with much of the oldest North American human story to be told of the Great Lakes area and relative Canadian lands there. I imagine that this was the only relatively safe and usable land for the early human story in the states. I have yet to find a “First Nations” group that I think was ever “from” here. That’s not an insult as I am 35% supposedly of 3 “kinds of injun” only I know my specific lineage branches and they have been documented for over 3000 years. When the paper says “Cherokee” it means the Germanic tribe of Cherusci (Etruscan/scot which will read as “welsh, Irish or Scottish on DNA reports.) when it says “Algonquin” it means Alchon Khan of the Golden Horde Tibetan-Swiss-German and will read German or Swiss etc. it’s a mess by design. Only I’ve unraveled a lot of it for the purpose of reigniting the dignity of knowing one’s self through kissing the face of our ancestors. The word god control freaks of our past separated us from our bones. (ßÖñ) The coming age will see horses with their riders again

Though there may be exaggerations or possibly some pieces that are left out in this video, it’s a reminder that we should never look back at the past with scorn or the attitude of “so primitive” regardless of where in the world you’re describing. Our ancestors, from the first humans to the generation before us should be honored and revered as without them and everything they did, we wouldn’t be as we are now

This is a beautiful documentary I shared with my parents. I've always been curious about ancient civilizations, especially those that were lost completely because they were also highly advanced. Most were destroyed by invaders with their texts and history. The loss of real history through time and conquest is sad. This documentary is very well put together, best I've seen in a long time. Great research.🙏

I love this program...I became interested in the subject of the indigenous people after reading the Journals of Lewis and Clark from the 1805 expedition of the "new lands" purchased by President Thomas Jefferson from France. In their journals, they speak of the VAST numbers of clans, or tribes, that they encountered from large groups "nations" down to small clans of 12 or so. AMAZING to read, because this information is not really taught in our "Western" schools...its a shame, because it is so interesting and wonderful...as any history of any people is!...yes, including the European history.

In the 19th century, the USA exterminated another kind of red menace, writing and shredding treaties, stealing lands, massacring them and herding the native population into concentration camps, (Indian reservations), all in the name of "civilizing the savages". By 1890, with the massacre of the Lakota at Wounded Knee, the total slaughter rose to well over 150 million. The frontier land grab, and internal imperialism - was over! I was just today reading about our mythology about giants that turned to stone and which now lie as the mountains of the North. Then I started watching this documentary and when I heard the Inuit language, I was amazed at how it sounds like some distant form Finnish. Very interesting. It really does seem the North was connected in prehistoric/pre-recorded times. And we have lost that knowledge in my country. This first part 'Before 1491' might be of interest to our project called democracy as it tells of the origins of the Iroquois Confederacy, which so impressed Immanuel Kant (1782-1804) who wrote out a plan for cooperation amongst nations upon which the League of Nations and United Nations was conceived. Apparently the Iroquois were matriarchal or matrilinear. The shaman lady is consulted and leads them. This is I believe the origin of the clichéd "Hiawatha," - Ayanwatha, who went into the forest like a rishi or a buddha. A solar eclipse helped - this was in 1142. So for hundreds of years the Iroquois Confederacy endured until the coming of the Europeans.

Bronze age mine was discovered in 1987, when Victorian mine was being prepared so that a car park could be built on that site. Today I live in constant aggravation at those who are trying to keep the descendants of first people from coming north into a land they owned before us. Ironically, in the seventeenth century I seem to recall expressing the same sentiments at the council fires of my people regarding the incoming Europeans. If I were first people then, were some of today's first people Europeans then? It is beyond me to figure that out. Perhaps because there were more of us then than now, the excess souls spilled over into other nations. Perhaps into those of us who still seek to preserve this planet.

Loved this. I was born in Ononfaga County and lived most of my adult life in Cayuga County NY. The one thing I remembered, possibly wrongly was that it was 7 tribes. I remember the Iroquois being involved but still one missing? Mohawk perhaps.

So, I live about 5 miles from Cahokia Mounds and the "Authorities" will not let anyone explore the areas, use metal detectors or dig anywhere near any of the mounds or they will throw you in a cage. You can climb a staircase that they built into the biggest one, but that all the exploring you may do.

This is great share. What happened to this civilization? Why did it die away? What replaced it? Indeed, history is interesting and teaches a lot The world has evolved so much. Life is never stagnant and moves on for the better and also for the worse, depending on how one looks on the dynamic changes Was all golden and perfect in the Inca Empire? Was all glorious in the Maya Civilization? What replaced these empires? Who are its remnants and how fare they in the world? The Incas believed in the immortality of their people. Are they still powerful? Are they movers and shakers of world affairs. One can but wonder why these civilizations passed on so quietly and were replaced by cultural believes brought far from across the oceans.
@arielbrandon2746

Genocide and colonization. The world you see today, is what replaced it because of Manifest Destiny, greed and religious pedos who decides our way of life was sinful and worse than death. Every tribe in this doc has massive generational trauma due to Christopher Columbus' "discovery".

There are still a lot of Mayans around, all over the Americas. You all just call them Mexican Americans! It's a scientific fact, that other than registered full Native ppl and tribes, Mexican ppl carry more Native DNA than any other group, including Mexican Americans. México carries more full Native tribes and ppl than any other country and Latin America ain't no slouch either. The ppl in USA, are the most ill and least informed about Native ppl. Most of u don't even know that all South West tribes were originally from Mexico. Your world is very small about Native ppl. Thank goodness for México and Latin America, and our Brothers and Sisters on the Rez, they are the truth keepers. Anyone that believes the numbers and narrative from USA, regarding Native, Mexican, Latino in general, is getting a lot of BS! ALL USA numbers and narrative r skewed to favor the whites and Afros. They teach Afro history in schools and hardly mention the Native ppl. Half of USA used to be Mexico, but USA vilanize them, how sad, to b so low on the totem pole in ur ancestral land. This is the way they have always handled the biggest human genocide in the history of mankind. Make them look like undeserving savages who deserved the horror.

I was introduced to this general topic/subject by the book "Dead Men's Secrets" by Jonathan Gray, as well as the works of Graham Hancock. It's quite fascinating. And I can't help but believe that not only have we been lied to in regards to just about everything, but that many parts of human history are being actively hidden or obscured. What is it that we aren't meant to know, and why?

“His.tory is Written by Victors.” It implies that history is not grounded in facts, rather it's the winners' interpretation of them that prevails. History is always written by the winners. When two cultures clash, the loser is obliterated, and the winner writes the history books-books which glorify their own cause and disparage the conquered foe. As Napoleon once said, 'What is history, but a fable agreed upon? Whoever controls the media of mass communication in effect, controls the minds of men. Heavy, therefore, is the responsibility upon actors, producers, scriptwriters, newscasters, commentators, and authors in what they brings before the public by means of the television set. Whoever, control of the press is also a control over the minds of the people, which controls the news media may control what information reaches the people, and what information does not reach the people.
