I like being aware of the grandpa of a show, I feel like some of the old shows should get credit where its due. Once again I like these types of videos :) I am glad you made these videos!

Both my mom and I loved this show. I missed boomerang. I do remember Barney bear from boomerang. But never put it together. I liked sleepy old Barney, lol.

Actually, you are partially right about that Barney’s hungry cousin was inspiration by yogi bear it came from the same creators, Hanna-Barbera you see they used to work for MGM which made Barney bear, and the Tom and Jerry cartoons, back in the day, but now they work their own studio which made Classics like Scooby Doo and the Flintstones

Another like for your video - which I found after searching for bears. Yesterday, 14 Aug 2024, I was experimenting with a motorcycle ride along the back roads of Central Florida. I keep an eye out for wildlife on the road, but low and behold, a sizeable bear ran across the road in front of me... broad daylight, unexpected. The great thing was that I got to see the bear, noticed it out of the corner of my eye, and could slow down enough to not endanger the bear, and the road crossing was successful. I liked your discussions about the beginnings of Yogi Bear... and I found it interesting that my looking for something about bears brought your video my way... funny how that happens!

Barney Bear is one of MGM's less-remembered characters because he really isn't that memorable. Compared to the contributions by Hanna-Barbera and Tex Avery, the Harman-Ising shorts pale in comparison. It's no wonder Yogi took off decades later.
