Try to drive a small car with traction control on up a slight incline on a sandy track and the effect of the traction control will often stop the vehicle in its tracks :) Then there is the group driving their cars in central Australia for several hundred miles on wet slippery dirt roads with traction control engaged that burnt out all the vehicles brake pads by the time they got to Alice Springs.
