Summary:
In this video, I talk about Why is the far East of India call the North East of India?
The cuisine of Nagaland of other states in the Far East of India like Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Assam, etc. If you look at the cuisine of Nagaland it's very distinctive, very different from what you find in the mainland of India so they use Local ingredients.
So the Far East of India, Geographically Nagaland is actually a part of South East Asia.

I would love to hear an Indian view of the history of Ireland. It is where the English first learned how to colonize a nation. The English learned how to use local strife to divide and rule, and how to use famine as a weapon. And when the English left they made sure to partition the nation based on religion. And even now Ireland has fewer people than in 1820.

@@Mr.BR15 yes, unfortunately that is very true. During the years of US expansion into the western frontier said expansion went through many tribal lands which often led to armed conflict. Not to mention the worthless treaties signed by the various tribes that ultimately weren't honored. I guess it could be called a clash of cultures that had atrocities on both sides but ultimately Eurocentric would be Americans won by employing genocidal tactics which saw some entire tribal bloodlines wiped out completely. Here in the States this entired period is known as The Indian Wars. Today there are several tribes still existence. Many of them reside on reservations in various areas of North America. These reservations are some of the most poverty stricken areas on the continent. I live close to Cherokee, North Carolina which is a reservation for the Cherokee tribe.

Far East of India (a.k.a. NE of India) is the gateway to the SE Asia and the Pacific. It is also the key to understand a potential cultural bridge between the ancient civilizations on the East and West coast of Pacific, as well as some interesting islands located amidst. It is no doubt, a very out of the box research, but trust me, it has tremendous possibilities. The ones who holds the power bank, knows the truth. Hence, they do not tend to even lure around those areas. For an instance, search about this place called 'Unnakoti' in Tripura. It has a striking resemblance to a similar site in Indonesia, and the rock cuttings have the same sort of impressions like what you see in Meso-American cultures.

@@challenger539 it is not our fault. it is fault of the corrupt puppet politicians who took over the top positions and controlled the world so that their other converting teams can carry on their conversions and wiping out the native cultures and true identity of every human. this is common pattern thoughout the world not just in India. just imagine Christians are highest in numbers and they donate 10% of their salary to Church empire which they use to control politics, geopolitics, history, medias, education system, hospitals, etc. they control the flow of resources of a region and deprive people from accessing them and keep them in poverty then give them greed of rice bags, money, jobs, promotions, Christian education, medicine and even fool them stage healing shows to convert them in massive numbers. they focus on brainwashing younger generation who are easy target so the chain of contenious traditions brakes and within one generation whole cultures ends up loosing their culture. speaking from personal experience, even if a child goes to city spend 10-15 years in the name of education and comes back the kid ends up loosing their cultural values, perspectives, understanding, ideology, identity and pride. christians are mastes at doing this the most evil force on the planet.

100 years ago there were barely any Churches in far east India. Today, Christianity is the number one religion in 5 of the 7 far eastern states. Majority of these conversions were done by the so called foreign NGO's in the 1960's and 1970's under the garb of 'uplifting' the poor tribal people. The central Government in New Delhi was sleeping when the demography of these States were being changed rapidly. Unfortunately even today there are rampant mass conversions happening in Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha and eastern MP.

Their religious practices are very interesting and very colorful some people can find it very strange after listening about their dishes and ingredients but we have to also keep in mind in that part of India survival is very hard because high mountains and rain forests . We should treat them with equal respect and they should be given equal respect through our history books and media .

So basically KHASI , The adivasi in orissa jharkhand chattisgad and the Dravidian people were the First inhabitants of India as per few research paper , historian , and Genetic study .. From North east the people move toward Southeast Asia , and also few migrated via China , so we find mixed breeding in southeast Asia , while In Northeast India we see inter breeding between tibeto-burman mongoloid race with Austro Asiatic race and Aryan Race in recent decades and past centurries which have make region varies vastly in gene pool .

Insects like ant & ant eggs are also part of the regional cuisine of tribes in the Dandakaranya region. So is Dried fish, which is not only part of tribal cuisine but also part of cuisine belonging to the mainland of the central plains. Pork is also an important source of protein in the tribal region & central plain. Note: in the case of the central plain it is either hunted or domesticated & consumption is only seen in socially backward communities. And have a social stigma attached by the socially upper class communities.

Regarding our origin, our ancestors came down from Yunnan province and crossed over the Chindwin river and migrated towards the hill tracts of modern day Nagaland .It took more than 1000 years of steady migration to reach modern Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal pradesh(3 Naga districts).Today's Naga culture evolved with the passage of time, geography and interaction with mainland Indian culture and may not bear much resemblance with that of Yunnan's culture. Our cuisine is considered wild and exotic and is closer to our ethnic cousins in Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam etc

Sir you said that Gandhi's decision to allow partition was wrong and Abraham Lincoln's decision to go to war was right. But for Lincoln, it was a matter of economic stability and resources since the southern states were into farming of cash crops needed to run the industries of the northern states, and in India Jinnah had threatened that he will wage a Hindu Muslim war and back thenalmost half of India's population were muslims and Neither did India have the resources to protect itself nor did the people. So was he really wrong? He wanted to protect the nation's integrity by reminding all that they all were Indians and that there is no such thing as High or low. Sir please explain the situation. I have heard and fully respected your side of the conversation and My father's side as well but I am in a dilemma right now.

As an Arunachali, I always have this question. That where are our ancestors from..are we really Indian..are we really Chinese as the mainland indicates us...and y most Arunachal foods r like nagalands food even though we r so far from each other...y most of northeast people look same except Assamese ( not in a bad way)... Did we migrate? If..then from where..n many more. our books just show us history of Mughals, choras etc but not about northeast.

@@user-vapee We are not Han Chinese. If you are from AP then there are same kind of small tribes living across the border but those are not Han. More than 90% of china is Han chinese. As for mainlanders calling us chinese, they will even call korean and japanese , thai or anyone with similar features as chinese. That's what comes to their mind(sad people of their own country don't).

It is often seen that due to lack of research the NE is often bracketed as a single unit. However each state has different tribes with distinct language , cuisine, culture and traditions. I am disappointed with Mr abhijits portrayal if the region while not highlighting the cultural uniqueness of each region. For Eg the Assamese language is not having any indo-tibetian roots and rather sanskrit. Nagamese is a mix of Urdu, Assamese and Sanskrit. While I would like to see him trace out the migration of these tribes with their roots it will only create more alienation for these local populace in the mainland. Hope some more research is done at least by Mr abhijit about this region.

nope. Manasollasa in 11th century speaks of many non veg recipes. That is a book for royalties. They also speak of eating rats. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, primarily because jungle rats are much better than sewer rats. This anomaly comes after colonization and extreme urbanization.
