Thank you all for digging into the extraordinary world of Ann Savoy with us. What a woman, what a creative force, what a musician and loving soul.

Many years ago I saw a German film about an accordion player who came from a small village in East Germany. He was granted a wish by his villager. He was the only one who was allowed to fly with his accordion to Louisiana/USA.He had a wonderful time there with a beautiful music. This was his love Cajun music and he died happy with this music.I never heard this music again and then, years later, the Savoy family and i saw ANN SAVOY on the right. I think the music of the family is very beautiful but it was only with this film that I realized the importance of Ann Savoy - a great musician!

While I dearly admire Marc Savoy for his artistry and work, I never until now have been given a glimpse of Ann. I see her onstage, in videos....but nothing more. What a treat. Thank you for this lovely gift...

So I come to this years later. I am from the UK and watched a TV programme called "Ali Bain meets the Cajuns" about 20 years ago. I loved the music and it has remained with me. I play the CD but wish I had the DVD. I remember the Savoy contribution - I cannot find the song with the words "Dimanche a midi...". Anyway watching this video has been illuminating seeing Ann"s (if I may be so bold - I am British donch'a know) story.

This is such an insightful look into the matriarch of one if the long-time premiere Cajun family bands in Louisiana, but yet this video can't be viewed by the people this story is dearest to... The Louisiana Cajuns themselves. Despicable if anyone is asking me. Great video, kitchen sisters! Long time fan from your NPR radio segment (miss it!)

Cajun music is similar to Irish folk and traditional music. For Example Sharon Shannon.
