I understand this is about a boy accepting that he has to be a father to his daughter. And maybe he didn’t see her as often as he should (like I think he said just the weekends.) but Abel really cares about Kayla even though at the beginning he was trying to hide it(that she was his daughter). So things like hospital appointments he wouldn’t know information about but Sam could’ve told him something at least. Like the most basic things she could so he could answer a nurse’s or doctor’s questions. He would’ve listened to Sam if he knew it was about Kayla.
