In Washington State, the attendant will come and reset the game after a jackpot so you can continue playing while the cage gets your paperwork and payout ready. They will bring your payout to you usually within 10 to 20 minutes after they reset. The only time I've had to wait longer is for jackpots over $20k, they need to be verified by senior attendants, but even then it only took about 10 to 15 minutes for them to come verify the win and reset the game.
